Dave, the "Pink Floyds" is pretty catchy and we will wait awhile to see what other names crop up. Chuck G--

Have a wonderful holiday season everyone, from our house to yours. Chuck G--

Winnie, you could be right on the three so i am still unsure who made them so i will try to look deeper into them and find out more. They look so similiar to pelts thats what fooled me. Thank you for your feedback on this. Chuck G--
-
Way to go Steve, you are correct. These three are look-a-likes but i still think they could possibly be pelts. Some have told me that these three could be MKs and or foriegn German made. The ribbon numbers are the same as pelt with the yellow and hot pink. I do have pelts that are real similiar to these so in conclusion they still could be pelt possibly but majority rules if they are not. Still looking for a name for the top row the first three marbles. One is on an opaque white base, one on a transluscent base and one on a clear base with blue/gray ribbons and pink ribbons. Need a name for these. Chuck G--

A good start everyone so lets keep it going and there are just three that are "NOT" peltier. The photo is not real good and i will work on that next time and have some ideas on a different color background to show the colors in them better. Chuck G--

More Wood, Copperhead Or Woody + 1?
Chuck G replied to marbleus1's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Your second photo kinda looks vitroish to me however get more opinions. The first one is a copperhead wanna be, being close but not quite there. A lot of the peltheads like to see a bluish cast to the copperhead to make it the real deal. Ribbons of bluish/gray are in the copperhead. Yours is close and you can it it what you like. I like to explain the whys and composition of the marbles for a better understanding. The Copperheads fall about midrange of the HTFs. Chuck G-- -

BJ, yes the ones you are talking about are pretty hard to find, green base green ribbons. Another one is blue base blue ribbons, have any of those? Chuck G--

I am planning on sharing some more photos with everyone in the near future and those will be a tower shot of some multi-colored sunsets and some peerless patches that are odd and different. Chuck G--

What Is The Rarest Peltier Comic Marble?
Chuck G replied to Rylee Burch's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Rylee, Steph is pretty much right on with her list. I have heard that we all know that a full set is the 12 regular comics but when they produced the two colored mib sets Coytes and Tom Mix was the other two added to make the full set and that set is 14, now that was i was told this year and some may disagree with that. Hi members, thought you might want to see some more pelts that i consider not rare but not common and fall in between the two catagories. Chuck G--
-
Winnie, this is some quality information and invaluable. Thank you so much for sharing and now i am going to have to look thru some of my marbles for examples similiar to the photos you have put up. Chuck G--

David, the pelt so called "Woodies" are a white to off white base with deffinite yellow and brown in it. Now this may vary quite extensivly on the color combinations and the one you posted could be classed in the Woody type family. There are mmany many types of these from all i have seen. Chuck G--

David, i am back from our hunting trip and back on with the discussions on the board. Yes the first photos are a pelt "Copperhead" as they call them. I am not sure where the name came from but thats what it is. I agree that other makers had the same name but different color combos but still leaning on the brownish earth tones. The photos you have shown is a good example of the pelt copperhead and a few like the added color of blue in them to give them a real eye appeal and yes there are ones with blue added. I have two nice ones as examples in my collection and you done good on finding one and they are a tad harder to find, say around the 8.6 range. Hope this gives you some more insight into the pelts. Duff, happy birthday buddy and may many many more "ROLL" your way!! Chuck G--

David, yes thats another thing to look at that i forgot when trying to help you on this one. Lets say they were running JDs at the factory and decided NOT to shut down for another run and just brought the black in after the green and its possible to have "BOTH" colors present in the marble and i have found that myself. Some thoughts you might ponder on. Good thread and good discussions so everyone has a chance to learn. Love to see the marble in hand at one of our shows here if you ever come this way. Chuck G--

David, Charles does have a very good point and so far most of the pelts and he will most likely agree with me on this specific John Deere type are mostly green and deep green transpoarency to the greenish part of the marble. Ok with that said, its a keeper "IF" it is and actually has "SEPERATE" black to it. I have never seen one yet with these three color combos and Charles will attest to that probably also, not saying it could very well be possible and with peltier anything is possible. Just my opinion from all i have come accross and seen. Chuck G--

David, this looks like a pretty interesting pelt for sure. The base is yellow and the other color or two colors looks like green and black. Ok now look with a bright light and see if the green is a deep green that looks black or is the black seperate from the green? Ok now does the marble have av in it also? Let me say that anything is possible with peltiers production runs they sold out to the public. Let me know what you find with my questions please. Chuck G--

Mike, i cant really tell very well, even enlarging the photos. Just remember in this family group to look for and set aside the odd and different and the ones with an additional color in them. The champion and champion jr types are still in its early stages right now till more are being found with extra information about these coming out. I have found and do have some with four colors in them instead of the regular three color combos. Stay after them buddy!!! Chuck G--
-
Duff, pretty nice score and lots of pelts for sure. Look for the tri and quad colors in the group. Chuck G--
-
Ron, some very very nice additions to the collection. Seeing them in person was a pure delight for me. Find a really good spot to hang them up and i will be looking for them when i come your way. Chuck G--

Winnie, a beaut, for sure and i still love the cats and save all the odd and different ones. I am working on my third phlat of them right now. A very pretty marble!! Chuck G--
