Peltier National Line Rainbo Corkscrews
Chuck G replied to BobBlock's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Kudos Ron, love to see great posts like this and this way we all learn using comparitivity to other marbles in the photos. I reviewed it a few times and i guessed wrong to. This is where we all learn and spark even more interest in collecting them. Great job my friend!!! Chuck G-- -
Hi members, see if you all can find the three peltiers in the tower photo and id the remaining swirls. Chuck G--

Love the members, and what is said, this is a lot of fun and i enjoy every minute of it. Its a learning tool and the more involved the more WE ALL LEARN. Looking at the tower the top row far left is a flinty. At the bottom row to the far right last marble is pelt. Most of the rest are a mix of west virginia swirls, mostly Alleys. Ron tell the members which ones they are if you can from the photo. Ron is one of the KINGS of west virginia swirls and he can enlighten us very well. Yes Ron you know what the back ground is and it came from one of my best friends. I love it and show it off all the time, Julia done a great job on it. Chuck G--

Hi David, i was waiting to see if the memebers was going to post more on the Kokomos and some photos. Kokomo purchased an old peltier machine and created their own color palat when they went into production. Their marbles are a little different and the majority of them are sumwhat easy to id once you have seen a few of them. In the center of the tower are two mustard yellow and lipstick red on a honey light amber base which we all have found out that they are an experimental run at Kokomo. Honey-mustard and ketchup!!!! I hope some of the members post some more photos for you and you will see what i am talking about, and if not i will try to post some myself. Kokomo was not in production very long and some examples of them are kinda hard to find. These marbles are real similiar to peltiers but have their colors slightly different. Chuck G--

I know i will miss Bruce tremendously after all the great conversations we had on the phone over the last few years. We talked for hours and discussed thoughts and ideas on peltiers togather. He gave me some very good insights and photos of some of the best peltiers i have ever seen. He even BLESSED me more by showing up at the Ammana show and finally got to meet in person. He and Clyde and i had some fantastic times togather showing off to each other and discussing our peltiers we brought to show each other. I will value that forever as one of my hi-lights in collecting marbles. I miss him now and will for a long time. I will be praying for his family for sure.

Hi Dani, yes its true black from my inspection with a strong light and a 40 power loop. I have another black popeye and the colors are the same black as well as an akro smokey cornelian that i bought from Mary Maslanka in Ammana a couple years back, and she will confirm that. I do believe that akro did have and make true black in some of their glass formulas, why not when they made childs toy dish sets and other glass items in true black. Thats my opinion, and for the market value of such a popeye, only saying its up there. Chuck G--

Hi David, one popeye came from my nephew and the other came from my x-neighbor who came over to see me and brought the better one of the two. They both came from two different groups of popeyes that two old men had for years in their collections. I did take a very strong loop and light to thourghly inspect them to make double sure they were the real deal. In my opinion they are because of all of akros traits they have in them. With all the collections hitting the market place, you never know what can be found. Chuck G--

Molten Glass Stops Nuclear Leak!
Chuck G replied to LouisCamp's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Hey Leroy, that is so cool and ironic. The reason is that i had a very good friend make me a mystery marble for our show here and a prize to the one who ided it right or close to it. It was a blast showing it all around and everyone guessing what it was. Terry T came the closest to it. The mystery marble was out of a sight glass that was in a nuclear reactor. Oh yes someone told me that they may have one coming to them also. Marbling is so much fun!!! -
I would really like to thank you all for coming to the show and i try extensivly to make each one better and better. Sometimes it always dont go that way and i do make a few mistakes but try to correct them immediatly. My desires for the future is to try to keep the shows here going forward and teaching as much about marbles as i have learned over all these years. I have found that even the shows here i learn more and more each one i attend wheather it be here or some other show. Ron S really enlightened me on how some of the marble machines ran and the shears and cut lines. This is the kind of information that really puts things togather on part of the many aspects of collecting. We all must remember that the more information that gets out there and is taught to others the more of a desire for them to start or add marbles to their collections. Hunting those great pieces of art work in glass is sometimes difficult especially the rarer pieces but the EXCITMENT is the hunt for it. The regulars that attend the show here are just like family and what other fun is there outside of being with family and learing and looking for wonderful marbles, they go togather great. Oh yes i will miss Everett Grist very much and wanted those who knew him to remember him a long time into the future. Thanks everyone for attending!!!

Deffinitly ADD some of the great lookin pelts to this collection here for sure, great group of marbles from the members, love the photos.

Clyde is right and when you get to my age its pretty tough to remember hundreds of names of the silly liitle round things. YES i WILL start writing theses names down and descriptions of them so i can keep them straight so eveyone benefits from these threads. Clyde did post a few quality photos of the BLUE PANTHER earlier in one of the threads. There are just so many varieties of pelts its tough to keep the names in line.
