I miss work too, I loved my job, I was a shipfitter (welder) by trade then the dreaded disability struck (Back problems). I actually used to sing @ work, kinda funny but being a welder is something I wanted to be since I was a kid. I can say I've done it all except nuke (x-rayed welding) the nuke welders used to weld the stainless piping coming from the reactor when I was in the Navy stationed on the Enterprise in drydock for refueling in Bremerton WA. The crew flew into work and left every day in their own private helicopter they parked on the flightdeck.

Agree, the OP is transparent based type 1 tiger eye w/ veneered colors IMO. I believe parrots should also be a veneered type marble, w/ at least 4 colors not including the opaque white base (some white should be showing, the less the better) VITRO ID GUIDE LINK :: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/mibzandmore/vitro-agate-id-guide-t35.html

The sales listing looks correct to me. Blocks listed sold marble (carnelian) is translucent and the OP appears to be opaque IMO -

Salright, I'm glad you slipped a Jabo in there to show a little different colored av.
-
av. = Aventurine The sparkles you see in the black ribbons here are called aventurine. It can be added or be the result of a chemical reaction in the glass. There are a few different colors of av. besides silver or blue, green for one. here are a couple peltiers w/ aventurine in them. Peltier isn't the only manufacturer that had or has marbles containing aventurine, it's also used in many contemporary marbles. Contemporary with aventurine.

It's "cooked" heated up then put in cold water. These were marketed as "Fried" marbles but I forget by what company. People do it themselves also so I couldn't tell ya which, still a very common mib. The cracks you see are fractures in the glass.

Imperial IMO

x3, NLR Zebra, 39/64 (almost 5/8ths) common size, I see hvy av in the thin black ribbons, probably also present in the bronze colored ones, almost a checkerboard pattern but not quite, still a nice mib Al.

Better late than never I guess ?? Old man Winter is here They're really whippin and dippin next door on the construction. The Taco Bell is done now they're laying down pavement, concrete, digging, and leveling the top layer of dirt all @ the same time, I think this is the Olive Garden spot ??

A Pee-Wee Christmas tree I got from a good marble Brother for this "Peltier Tuesday" Right @ the 1/2" .50 mark, maybe a hair under.

Sorry for the huge lapse in pix. I've had C-19 plus a bunch of Dr. stuff, now it's froze hard + snowed and there is going to be an appreciable difference in the pix between "then & now" I meant to get all the subtle differences in but @ this point; not gonna happen. I'll try and remember to get a few in tomorrow of the leafless trees !!
