"Happy Monday" "Not my marble" (I wish) but I had to post these, here are some pictures of one of the rarest Marble King marbles I have ever seen. A Marble King "Melon Girl" complete w/ oxblood at the top end and what appears to be possible green flecks of av scattered about in the green ribbons, maybe just excess colorant ?? A beautiful marble none the less and a very fitting name. Pics courtesy of AAM.

Yeah !! the rollers really did a number on the first two #1 Veiligglas, even has the common air bubble in the middle. I have many defective dug Heaton I kept, I like them just as much as the regulars, all part of history. Some Dug Heaton w/ asmade manufacture defects, double ingots, footballs, eggs, pancakes, barbells, etc.....

I'll say MFC green slag, yes, old !! Good shape for an old boulder.

I don't use anything w/ abrasives in it myself, no matter how light or fine. It may appear to have cleaned the marble and shined it up nicely at first but in actuality you may have "Polished" the mib. Under a 20 x loupe (or better) you can see the tiny circular microscopic scratches that it leaves just like the finest jewelers rouge does. A polished mib if noticed will only fetch a fraction of what an untouched mint surface will, some people won't even touch them.. I had a couple really bad experiences cleaning w/ a light abrasive, I thought I had made the mibs look new until I put the mag to them, Aaaaah !! I googled "removing rust stains from glass" and this is what it spit out. I've never tried any of these methods !! but as said "corn starch" is still a light abrasive so I might be little leery of using it ?? When I was in the Navy in boot camp we used vinegar and newspaper to clean windows, so clean birds were running into the windows all day, but that glass had been getting cleaned twice a day for at least the prior 50 years, probably still is !!

Just sticking to mibs & I.D.'s no intentional misuse of names in "other" professions or offense intended.. I worked in the woods too, we tried to avoid "Fire Devils" coming up the gorge through the timber behind us and eating us alive. Running uphill for a half a mile or more w/ your face planted to the ground eating dirt it's so steep & burning sticks hitting you in the back of the head is no fun, I agree !!
