  1. STOOKIE: Term used in the late 1800's for a marble made of clay

  3. Wada score Brother !! Are they shooters ??
  4. SUBMARINE: A collectors' term for a rare design element present in some handmade and machine-made glass toy marbles, where a thread of color existing on the marbles surface plunges down into the interior of the sphere.
  5. SUGARING: A Players' term; Defines the roughing up of a glass marble's smooth surface to give it texture, allowing the player to get a better grip, obtain greater control, aim and more spin or English. Also called roughing.
  6. Just by the colors and uv. glow I'd say it's a funky carnelian
  7. Oop !! Found another Halloween mib researching something else, might have known who it was, I had forgotten all about Vacor !!
  8. I know mine came in a lot, sometime from somewhere ?? After a while it all becomes kind of a glassy blur ??
  9. x2, 😭 = more 😭😭😭 There should be a puddle forming anytime now ???
  10. Don't feel like the lone Ranger, I haven't the slightest where I got mine either Just happy to have it !! Anxious to see yours Brad !!
  11. "Happy Akro Friday" I know I've posted this marble before but this time an explanation of exactly where it came from & what it is. I.D. as an Akro French Drain marble, w/ an olive colored base glass and the familiar Akro construction including a nice patch of oxblood. Most of the French drain marbles were on the large size, this is a smaller one at nearly 11/16ths". For being found or "dug" this marble is in immaculate shape.

  16. I have actually looked for a "pink" Bennie but the few I ran into were beat up !!
  17. Was it Fess ?? Or maybe this is the wrong type of "Pelt" .... I've looked and don't see a marble bag ?????????? Some facsimiles of our past leaders
  18. x2, agree w/ Ric, both manufacture (box) names, not my pix but some nice sets !! Bill (mibcapper) has a really nice set of Cerise he'll hopefully post ??
  19. These are the only "clay type" ones I really saved, guessing the Black Bennington would be the hardest to acquire then maybe the Jaspar in the back ?? Not all that knowledgeable on them they just came in lots !! I have some glazed painted helix and bullseye Chinas "somewhere"
  20. "Estimated" production date for this one somewhere between 1870-1910, EOD Josephs Coat, two unfinished pontils, no faceting : Yes, so called English colors as most of the colors are noticeably brighter than their faceted 1850-1870 predecessors. Called English because most of them manufactured during this time were made in Germany for the "English" game board market, as such the larger Coats for this time (end of the late Victorian era) have become very hard to come by, i.e., @ over or near 1". Size is 1 & 3/16ths" A shot of the two unfinished pontils
