Nobody's mad Bruce !! I like his vids to, just not some of the stuff I know he's doing. All the property is private around the plant and I highly doubt he has permission unless he's related to the land owner. The people that live in the area are fed up with marble people trespassing. I live 1500 or more miles away and still hear about it here. I used to dig bottles with a friend that has passed, we used look at the old maps from city hall, located the outhouses' and school playgrounds and started the permission trip. Most of the dumps around here are a big no because a couple legal bottle diggers fell through because of the way the trash used to just be dumped leaves big cavities as it rots away. Anyway they fell through and got all cut up and broke a few bones and the city had to pay because it happened on their property unfortunately " The End ". Bill, my friend had an extensive marble and coin collection mostly from the old out houses, lets face it if your doing your business and your favorite mib or some change falls out of the pocket, your not going fishing, good for bottles because pops would hide from mom in the out house and throw the evidence in the hole. Hard work digging down to pay dirt, so anything we found was gold to us. I'm glad he'd been doing it for years and could tell 99% of the time what he was hitting on the other end of that steel rod. We still dug but most of the time we knew what for, marbles where just an added bonus we found on the way down, he didn't even collect them, unless you call throwing them in a jar when you get home collecting. Yes it is very addictive, like gold mining, now I know how they felt.

Thanks again for keeping me on the ball Hansel

last post for a while : 1931 catalog year with one unknown, another showing of the off the wall Akro logos, an explanation of those would be great also, I've tried but to no avail. I could make a good guess to the year but one unidentified isn't to bad. I hope you have as much fun researching this stuff as I did finding it. Now on record in the forum, we don't have to worry about deletion.

Here's the surprise pelt heads catalog year 1928 I know it gives a description but of what marbles ?? you tell me what was in this box, or even better try and research it ?? The best in the bus are trying to figure this one out. I have a good guess, in fact the only pelts that match the description but I'll leave this quandary to you !! AS said it is still unknown what marbles were in this box, some think it was an advertisement ploy to boost sales because of the coming economic situation, how about you ?? any feedback would be great.

I have them in year by year order now to make it easier for individual research on a certain item, thanks again Hansel it wasn't to bad going through the fingernails I kind of enjoyed looking at all the old toys along the way. 1924 catalog

I will go back and track down and post the years and months of each ad if available, thank you Hansel for keeping me on the ball, I believe 99% of them are there but definitely a misstep on my behalf, apologies. Thanks for catching it early, I'd hate to have had to go back and search them all, I have to scroll through a myriad of tiny thumbnails until I find the pages with the marble ads, you just saved me a lot of work, much appreciated. Provenance after all is the reason were all here. I will get every drop of preciouse information available before it's gone forever. i HAVE GONE BACK AND THERE ARE NO MONTHS BUT i AM GOING TO ADD THE YEAR, FROM YEAR TO YEAR YOU MAY SEE THE SAME MARBLE BUT THE PRICE WILL HAVE CHANGED A COUPLE PENNYS, REMEMBER THE GREAT DEPRESSION WAS WELL UNDERWAY BY 1931. Nice Job Brother, looks like the real thing !!

All he's gonna do is get every yah who known to man out there where he is and the police patrolling it all the time and watchin it so close nobody will be there, which there isn't supposed to be in the first place. I live in Washington state, about as far away from the any marble factory as you can get ( except Anacortes ) as a matter of fact 55 more miles and I'd be swimming in the Pacific. Lets see, drive over , google earth, look for creek or creek beds leading through in or around the old property, bingo I'm digging right beside him with the cops in the background. I have no idea what he's trying to promote or prove except glorify himself and the lawbreaking he's doing, he's ruining it for us folks and making us look bad to boot "he will get caught" and better hope those marbles he has are worth what he says they are ( not ) so he can post bail and pay the criminal trespass fine. And since he likes being outside so much he ought to enjoy the "community service" he'll be doing (probably ditch digging since he's had so much practice) Doing it is one thing, putting it out on YouTube, twitter or wherever. Like I said if given the legal opportunity to dig, I'm all over it, I want to do it so bad, but until then I'll sit here and clean some or Heaton or make another flat, build some boxes etc.... I remember when I was 42, still had my Superman cape π€ πͺ. About 10 years later or so, someone put a Brick wall in front of me and no matter what I did to eludeποΈββοΈ π΄ββοΈ π€ΈββοΈ π€ΌββοΈ πββοΈ π§ββοΈ πββοΈ π΅ββοΈ it still caught up to me. Logging, steel mills, lumber mills, shipyards, all about as physically intense as you can get, I worked my body into a frazzle. It felt like someone was π€‘ me . The dreaded "early demise π syndrome" I better post a couple oxblood before I get on another π trail. A couple of reprints from my Akro Friday posts, one inside and one out, yes I prefer the sun for mib pics, also my favorite Jabo oxbloods & I threw in another piece of akro ware. All eye candy !! Sorry no pics of stringy horsehair. Chad G.

We had a big black Tom like that when I was a kid. The only cat I knew that would fetch a stick. A humongous muscular cat that had tangled with more than one racoon π¦ . We lived 10 miles out of town, I think "Sam" short for Samson, showed at the house about 2 or 3 times a week just to say hi, the rest of the time he was out hunting. Our nearest neighbor was almost 3/4 of a mile away so yes we lived in the country. I believe he lived to be about 16 and was hit by a truck while crossing the road returning from being out carousing for chipmunks πΏοΈ, π, or whatever. We found him in the garage in his favorite spot under the chest freezer by the heating vent the next morning, I thought he had lived through the ordeal but unfortunately he never woke up. He would follow me all over the woods just like a dog, as a matter of fact he was more dog π like than cat, fetching and all. I will never forget my trusted companion with the heart of a lion π¦ , never a complaint one.

Man This hide out is "killer" where's everybody at This is one of the best places to share on the whole forum Just look at all the grade "A' No. 1, cutting edge facts you learn here, not to mention the stand alone comedy. Isn't this the place we all get to really know each other ??. Some great stuff, a place for us all to cut loose Hyyahhh !! Well since I was reminiscing over old times, I thought about the Father of the dog I have now. His name was Buddy, his son the marble partner I have now I named Tubby, A picture of each so you can see how much Father looks like son. The Good Father Buddy The King & his Queen, a happy man. What do you mean why am I standing here!! " I am human " am I not ?? "The Good Father" Time for Dad to teach Sonny the ropes. Tubby all grown up 1/2 of the "deceptive duo" look at that face, like father, like Son, right now he's waiting to help me "hide" I mean clean and sort mibs. With friends like this, who needs enemies ?? No wonder I have 2 or 3 of everything, they hide them faster than I can buy them. Happy New Year From Me, Tubby & Sissy !! I already know their resolutions, to eat more food & hide more mibs from me than they did last year, truly a dogs life !! Honestly what would I do without my kids ??

Man, the clean machine, musta hit that one with the power washer !! Good symmetry for what it is I got alot of doubles, nice and even, ones almost round at nearly 1" and clean just like yours, believe it or not it's a volcano, a perfectly named mib, frac city. I got some great mibs, absolutely no complaints here, I should've purchased more. They sure look good in those flats." Nice Heaton Ron" I like the abstract ones, I got a barbell also, I know I need to submit more pix.

Sure is fun to grow em around here they die outside β οΈ we trimmed it till it wouldn't fit in the house and was gettin a little ugly, never did get an avocado π₯They have those little orange trees you can grow inside, I wish they would hurry up on the avocados. Oh sorry!! Hi tiny Can't leave the little feller out. Good start on the resolutions Steph, bringin some new life into the world

That's what the bags are for Since we'll all be moving a little slower π’ we need to be incognito to get into those hard to reach spots. Maybe a little dieting before hand for some of us ?? Gotta be in tip top shape πͺ to get away from the marble police π !! You all know I'm just kiddin and well aware of the digging situation, almost everywhere there is left to dig has a fence and a stiff fine or is just plain on private property. Either that or it's under pavement or concrete, therefore inaccessible. That's why I grabbed up on them Heaton, not only some very cool mibs but historically just about the bottom of the barrel as far as digging goes. You might get away with it if you are young and fast and don't mind going to jail, myself those days are long since past. I'll sit here and clean Heatons off, plenty of time to do it right now. Stay safe and "keep em rollin "

I've lost track of what's posted and not so I'll go to a favorite store and post some of their goodies for a little Friday night Akro education. I haven't smoked in over 12 years but still enjoy the glass, I have some tabbed ashtrays but that's it, here's a little variety for all you Akrozoners. Short tabbed, shown in oxblood An Akro black amethyst Hamilton match puller ashtray A very early Akro agate ashtray, check out the early embossing on this one. The embossing on the bottom "AA" Akro Agate, a very plain but rare ashtray Akro hexagonal design The dreaded Akro ellipsoid, even the name is cool At 1 1/4" tall these thumb pot are tiny, I have 2 of them one is already pictured and is uv. The rarest 2 colors are black & amethyst, the little dimple in the bottom is a knockout if you want a plant in it, used for a water drain. Every size had these. I better slip in a few mibs just to make it legal. An egg yolk ox an imperil cork I can't believe it Steph, I got rid of a double post, deleted it completely. peter piper pic...... never mind I bet I could never pull that one off again !!

Oop ! I thought it was Sat. Lost one somewhere there. Here's a dome I bought at an antique store for $20.00. It was full of thimbles being that's what it was designed for in the first place. You can see the little upraised bumps between the mibs, I just put rubber o rings in between each thimble holding bump and I was in business. I ran into another One at an estate sale, also full of thimbles, the same amount of shelves but a little bigger in diameter $ 30.00 this time after they took out the thimbles. I Googled these and $75.00 each, plus mine rotate and te ones for sale didn't, a nice set of displays at 1/3 of the price. I have since went to flats and wall mounts for space reasons.

Maybe you, me, and your swat team could plan one more assault some day!! if there's a place left to hit ?? Gonna need a backhoe and some dyno π£

Amen to the memories Ron, my main driving force, making "new Friends" and "new memories" the marbles are just extra icing on the cake.
