  1. I'm not that great on Vitro I.D. Ric, I have several just like that, are those called aquamarine ?? or is the base a more off white than I'm seeing ??
  2. Me either !! Look at my "first response" Ron, I I.D. them as Jabo, just talking about the buttermilk type of base glass, those are obvious Jabo's. A small post easy to miss.
  3. I got no chips, clueless on this one !! Does look a bit Pennsboro though, I believe you're onto something Steph.
  4. Buttermilks bring in the $$ to, a very beautiful Vitro. "You're welcome"
  5. Akro facts : With acknowledgement, thanks and credit for information given to { MCSA } MARBLE COLLECTORS SOCIETY OF AMARICA THE AKRO AGATE COMPANY, A SHORT HISTORY : HAPPY, ALMOST , AKRO FRIDAY

    MK?

Akro patch yes but it doesn't look like an ade base to me, looks more like the ace base, can you hit it with the uv" 💡"and see if it glows please Bruce ?? Don't give up on identifying, I've seen you right several times also, believe me I've been wrong plenty, just like everyone else. Just like I may be wrong this time, sometimes you just can't tell from "📷" pics !! Chad G.
  7. It was yesterday, now nothing for me either but broken registry, there was a picture of a box of 2005- 2010 jabos ?? this has happened to me overnight also, I had to repost my pics Luigi you probably have to hit edit and repost the pic you had of the box of Jabo from yesterday, frustrating I know, a computer server glitch I believe, no ones fault
  8. Well another year gone by so quickly 🏎️, I always say this, so I'll say it again" Hopefully this year is going to be better " Chad G.
  9. Provenance will come, this did, and I am patient. I kind of enjoy being clueless about some things, it keeps me humble. I'll find some more, I have no doubt, the permission is the hard part, lots of stuff I'd like to share but can't both out of respect and because of the pat. laws.
  10. Yes I know, a lot of digging I just wanted to get em posted Bruce, there here to stay now so have at er. Your very welcome, my great pleasure. Chad G.
  11. Man all you other Pelt heads stole my mibs, I want my booty or else Ding a ling a "CLANG "....curtains. But seriously, stay safe friends, wear yer mask, like me 100% protection "bulletproof"
  12. You're very, very welcome Bill !! Indeed my pleasure, I believe I've finally passed the popcorn test " maybe "
  13. Yes I'm aware of what an onyx is, the original name for slags. The ad says "sparkling" colors and "duplication" of a genuine onyx. I have a few pelt lagoons and have seen many silver surfers, I believe this ad is speaking about these marbles. When where these produced ?? what packaging did they come in ?? Just a theory but I believe both questions are answered here in this ad. The spin theory is not mine but that of another, I was simply interjecting it to stimulate further conversation. Thank you for for your comments Hansel. I guess we'll all have to wait and see if any further provenance pops up on this matter. There will always be questions, to me that's part of what makes this hobby fun, the learning never stops, conversation and investigation until the marble community's effort exposes another link in the chain. Do you have any ideas on the 1931 Akro ad with the strange logos in the corners ?? I hadn't seen this ad until now?? as always any input is greatly appreciated, again "Thank you" Chad G.
  14. I guess 100 or 90 yrs back is to far for most people to care, I realize alot of these are or have been posted before here and elsewhere. But not all at once in one place and there are still 2 unanswered ad questions that have been around for years. Maybe someone will do more than look and find out the long standing answers to these questions. I'm still looking, the basis of this forum is provenance, I guess if we already knew all the answers it wouldn't be much fun. Doing this has been it's own reward, maybe a few can draw something from it. Thank you all for your patience. I have tons in folders but can't share it because of copywrite infringement. Not everyone in this world likes to share, to bad we would all be so much better off. Sorry bout that "You're welcome Ron" Stop me when I get off on those 🐇 trails. I have seen 99% of it but for the benefit of anyone new it's here now. Chad G.
  15. Nobody's mad Bruce !! I like his vids to, just not some of the stuff I know he's doing. All the property is private around the plant and I highly doubt he has permission unless he's related to the land owner. The people that live in the area are fed up with marble people trespassing. I live 1500 or more miles away and still hear about it here. I used to dig bottles with a friend that has passed, we used look at the old maps from city hall, located the outhouses' and school playgrounds and started the permission trip. Most of the dumps around here are a big no because a couple legal bottle diggers fell through because of the way the trash used to just be dumped leaves big cavities as it rots away. Anyway they fell through and got all cut up and broke a few bones and the city had to pay because it happened on their property unfortunately " The End ". Bill, my friend had an extensive marble and coin collection mostly from the old out houses, lets face it if your doing your business and your favorite mib or some change falls out of the pocket, your not going fishing, good for bottles because pops would hide from mom in the out house and throw the evidence in the hole. Hard work digging down to pay dirt, so anything we found was gold to us. I'm glad he'd been doing it for years and could tell 99% of the time what he was hitting on the other end of that steel rod. We still dug but most of the time we knew what for, marbles where just an added bonus we found on the way down, he didn't even collect them, unless you call throwing them in a jar when you get home collecting. Yes it is very addictive, like gold mining, now I know how they felt.
  16. last post for a while : 1931 catalog year with one unknown, another showing of the off the wall Akro logos, an explanation of those would be great also, I've tried but to no avail. I could make a good guess to the year but one unidentified isn't to bad. I hope you have as much fun researching this stuff as I did finding it. Now on record in the forum, we don't have to worry about deletion.
  17. Here's the surprise pelt heads catalog year 1928 I know it gives a description but of what marbles ?? you tell me what was in this box, or even better try and research it ?? The best in the bus are trying to figure this one out. I have a good guess, in fact the only pelts that match the description but I'll leave this quandary to you !! AS said it is still unknown what marbles were in this box, some think it was an advertisement ploy to boost sales because of the coming economic situation, how about you ?? any feedback would be great.
  18. Almost there a big surprise coming up for my pelt head friends 1927 catalog year
