"Not a Christensen" to me looks like a West Va. swirl not sure on manufacture, yes Bruce Heaton did have that clip of color on many of theirs.
-
Hmm, with that pink base you might have an unexpected surprise ?? I have to wait also, not great on West Va. swirl I.D. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya !!

Most hand made peewee's where made between 1880 to 1910 for the English gameboard market, German made for the English market, during the Victorian era. A few peewees where made between 1850 & 1880 and some of these show a faceted pontil on one end as an indicator of estimated production dates. The newer gameboard mibs sported brighter colors & two unfinished ends, they weren't for game play but for the game boards. These handmades where all discontinued in the very early 1900's the transitional's stepped in and between 1910 & 1915 all mibs where 99% machine-made. I'm not exact. on the dates because some came a little earlier & some a little later, but within a year or two either way. If you noticed not one of the peewee's I showed had a faceted pontil, most unfinished & rough, I have a few that are unfinished on one end and a melted pigtail on the other, as shown on one or two in the pix, looking like the larger ones made for game play. Don't ask me why, they're so small there's no way you could shoot them in a game of mibs. After you've seen a few thousand you can almost tell with 95% or better certainty when they where made just by looking at the colors & the glass.

Ahh !! " Sweet relief "Thanks a million for the final Steph " I had a good idea but needed a 100 percenter on this one for my bud, "Thanks again to both of you for the I.D. confirmation ( Good thing I'm not payin for these ) " Thanks " again for all the help, Chad G.
-
"Thanks' Ric" I know it's newer like you do just not positive on manufacture, appreciate all your help ( I'll bet it is an earlier Jabo) Anxious for another few posts & a positive on the I.D. for my friend.

A Friend of mine Emailed me a pic of a mib I simply I.D. as newer but told him I would try and get a wider perspective & possibly a maker for him from the forum. Swirls like this with no real distinguishable traits are near impossible & a nightmare for me personally to I.D. Any feedback is greatly appreciated and will be passed on immediately. "Thank You" ( just a side note, this mib is very clean with only minimal pkt. ware & "maybe" 1 or 2 fleas. Color correct, a kind of weak light purplish color ?? Chad G. Another tile of pics he sent me with a little closer look & some different views for ya to look @

YUuuummm !! Thanks for the goodies Chuck !!

Coreless swirl, bottom center, a fairly good one though, not so common green aqua color $10.00 _ $12.00 : the yellow "damaged latt" (top R )$2-$3.00 if your get anything : & the peewee( top L ) another coreless, near a josephs coat type if it's clean like it looks another $10 - $12.00. A true peewee by definition must be 1/2" - .50" or less, anything over 1/2" or .50" is "not a peewee" Just my personal opinions on the prices but I would consider them to be correct & very "generous" On a personal note, I would give you $5.00 apiece for the swirls & wouldn't even consider buying the yellow latt. There are handmade peewee's worth significantly more clambroths, lutzes, gooseberry's, true Joseph coats all these in 9.7-9.8 wet condition will fetch between $75.00 and $150.00 each, the gooseberry's & clambroth's considering the rarer colors will fetch even more. A few pics for I.D. purpose for ya, from my friend Terry's mibs, I have a peewee collection but easier to use his enlarged pics for I.D. purposes ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joseph Coat, peewee's, a josephs coat "always" has gaps between the colors giving a view of the interior of the mib 0.498" Another Josephs coat, 0.493" Josephs coat, great example, classic, .50" exactly Onionskin peewee, similar to a josephs coat but with a solid under layer or color ( usually white or yellow ) completely surrounding a clear marble on top of which are bands, streaks, or spots of color, some onions do have an underlying core. .446" onionskin peewee another onionskin Latticinio .476" Yellow latticinio just over peewee @ .52" Banded solid core peewee this is mine, .47" faceted, dyed bulls eye agate Divided ribbon core .486" Three stage solid core peewee, .473" A solid core of any color or combination of colors with two more "separate" layers of colored ribbons or stripes.

Dude, I hope that it helps you out ?? Just some friendly advice to make it easier on both sides of the fence. "Good Luck" in the you pursuit into this great hobby, everyone here is here to help one another & share what they have. A great amount of knowledge compiled here as you look through the different threads, above all have fun !! Chad G.

"Thanks Tommy" I knew everyone would like it, when I tell people about it that don't live around here they never believe me, well this is no doctored up cg vid. it's the real deal. Right now it rained so hard last night and today there's standing water wherever you look. the "Pineapple Express" started dumping yesterday, a few momentary breaks and that's it, nothing but a solid downpour. Oop !! more mibs !! A mixed bag of super delicious goodies, for the Akro in us all. Some repeats but all mmm, mmm good !!
-
Well I looked outside this morning & yes, the "Pineapple Express" had arrived, it was raining pineapples. There were already a few victims of dreaded the weather event lying on the ground !! Since this is the Akro Friday thread it's only fair I post a few Akro Not my pix but some very nice orangeade patches, not to easy to find this color ade patch, these also appear to be same run, they were bought together in a lot. Welcome Dude, "Glad to have you" lots of knowledge here & many more than willing to share & show what they know and have & to assist you in your endeavor!! The last pics unfortunately don't show an Alley green giant, but do appear to "maybe" be Alley with to much damage for any value. If it where a green giant you might squeeze few dollars from it not much. The second batch of pix are better, try to show only 2 max at a time at the most, with multiple views like you have of the aqua one & please try and always include the size if possible ( very important in most cases) in fractions or decimals, i.e... 3/4" or .75"- 1/2" or .50" & so forth, a cheap set of plastic calipers will pay for themselves in 5 minutes, this will make I.D. a marble 10times easier & quicker for you & the person making the I.D., a bunch of marbles like the first few pix is difficult & confusing. If the mibs in the first pix all had a monetary value & were in mint shape Ric would still be there explaining the different positions of & values for each. If you had them in a more individual pic sequence you would now know the I.D. of each individual marble for future reference, as is you just know "for the most part" you have a bunch of marbles. Just a few friendly suggestions to help out you & all involved in the future, Thank you Dude !! The smaller pink & white ( 1st, 2nd, 3rd pic & the blue and white ( last pic) may be west Virginia swirl types, hard to tell with only one far off view & so many mibs. See what I mean, If you had a valuable marble there & only one bad view amongst a myriad of others, most would overlook it or not try to I.D. them at all. "Again Welcome & thanx for listening" Chad G.

There's a couple places culverts go under the roads ( the salmons normal route ) that get plugged and the fish have to get upriver so, up, over & across the road they go. The Skokomish river is 70 - 80 mi. north of me but has become infamous for this event. It happens around here quite often also, just not nearly as much as the Skokomish. There are 6 rivers within 25 miles of where I live here in Longview, the Columbia, Cowlitz, Kalama, Coweeman, Lewis, and Elochoman rivers all have substantial salmon & steelhead runs. The first time I seen the event I was in grade school 6 miles away from where I live now in Oregon state where I grew up.. There was a creek ( Fox Creek ) that went through a culvert under the road next to our baseball field, the culvert got plugged during a flood that just happened to coincide with the salmon run and here came the fish going upstream out across the flooded baseball field, quite the sight for a little tike. They have no other choice, time is short for them & they have to get to their spawning grounds "no matter what the obstacle" you would not believe the height of the falls & fast speed of the water I've seen both Salmon & Steelhead traverse, the highway shot is nothing to them, look how fast they get across, they're only in second gear.

Hello fellow Mibsters, I've already posted this in "General Marble Glass Chat" thread "Akro Friday" when the going gets tough around here the tough get goin, or when life gives you lemons make sushi. Recently on the weather it said we have the "pineapple express" headed our way again. When it floods around here often this is what happens in the PNW. A YouTube vid. of the Skokomish river about 70 mi. north of my local. Though I have seen the same right here, with the fish often getting stranded in hay fields & so forth after the flood water recede. That's why I call this "Gone" fishin, no more makin fun of all the rain around here or everyone having web feet. Enjoy !! Oh I almost forgot, I live in the rain soaked Washington State, where we don't tan we rust. This is the only place in the U.S. there is a " Danger" "Slow fish crossing" road sign on the highway !!
-
x 2, agree completely with Ric. (L) Pelt Rainbo (R) Akro patch type
-
x 2, Pelt, looks like some weird Rainbo's. Cool
-
Looks like old bugs 🐇 hit a brick wall !! No orange Boro glow here.

Yes, I'm waiting to see the beavers @ the hardware store buying life jackets & flotation devises. I'll send more pix of old Mcbeaver floatin around after it really gets nasty. Two years ago we had dead salmon and steelhead in the hay fields that got stranded when the water went down after the rivers flooded, I've even seen them crossing the highway when the culverts get plugged with logs. This is the Skokomish river, the only place on a U.S. highway there is a "SLOW FISH CROSSING " highway sign. Skokomish river floods, happens almost every year, Salmon crossing the highway, no poles needed here !! Video :
-
I agree one of the poles & one side are a bit wonky & don't look like anything identifiable, they look like everything combined like you were saying, but I'll still say pelt & yes an "Outstanding mib Ric" any way you cut it I still drool a bit every time I see it !!
-
Sorry for the misunderstanding Steph, It sure looks like a cane end in the second backlit pic where the ox and glass flow lines end and there is what appears to be a round ground or cut surface, it's so worn I can't really tell but "my" guess would be a handmade. It may not be ?? The glass with the floaters looks old & soft to me also. I may be way off on this one ??
-
Agree with Steph, definite handmade, unsure again as Steph said as to the maker origin, the ox streak in it might be an indicator, any clues I'llhavethat1 ?? By the way Tommy nice clear multi view & backlit pics ................................................... "Again more sunlight" Hmmm, maybe time for a road trip !! It's so damp around here I think my floor is starting to grow. Handmade mibs where made all over, Germany, Bulgaria, Asia, etc..... etc..... Yes !! Agreed, the greater bulk of old hand mades did come from Germany.
-
Yeah, you can watch the beaver swim by while you're trying to figure out a go around, of which sometimes there is none. Great fun, guaranteed !!
-
Does the bottom green one glow orange ?? realizing of course they're both under the same light, & "Yes I agree with Ron 100%" the colors will vary greatly under each light. Someone used one of those new fangled expensive multi bulb uv flashlights in a glass shop on my sulphides & there was no uv reaction whatsoever, none, not even a little. I went back home and have them under a 4 foot fluorescent blacklight tube & some of them look like Christmas they're so lit up, I'm absolutely positive of them being genuine. Here are a few, all commons and very well known. I just have them because of being extremely clean outside & nearly air bubble free & clear on the inside. Every sulphide I own glows at least a little green some so much you can barely see the figure inside, more depleted uranium in the glass I guess ?? Sorry for the rabbit trails 🐰 I "personally" prefer the old fluorescent tube type bulbs to anything else. Weather hand held or wall mount they seem to show even the slightest reactivity well even in full daylight. Boy there's rabbits running all over this post 🐇 🐇 🐇

A much simpler tracer type with the same basic "glass pattern" an oddball also, but the similarities in them & yours still say Pelt to me.

Uh Oh !! I've been duped
