First ones a killer Ric loaded !!

Ok I found my favorite snow globe, thankfully already downloaded to my P.C. A few shots of the same mib, no pins or anything a few asmade creases and that's it, more like a blizzard, 23/32nds, what looks like blue is a vibrant turquoise veneer that encompasses about 1/3rd of the mib, kinda off and chunky but I like it. Not much on the outside but inside is filled that's why I took the backlit pic, kind of a different lookin one for sure. If it looks like i was moving i wasn't the camera was on a tripod, this is actually how the marble looks, like it's in motion. Side shot looks like some surface air bubble pops but I assure you there are none, just the as made creasing visible at the top of the first & 4th pic.

I don't know how, I've stated it several times I'm I.T. disabled, I have to wait for my friend to come over and do it for me, I got some outstanding Akros this week and have some great pics. Easier said than done, it drives me crazy every time, I've tried before and All I managed to do is erase the chip so I think I'll just wait like always. I sure feel dumb but I guess everyone has their weak points. The pics are there so maybe tomorrow or next week, I hate to repost old stuff & after all the group shots and others I'm at the end of my Akro rainbow until I get these others posted, sorry folks. I just got my first cell from a friend a month ago tells you how far behind I am, I only use about 30 or 40 mins a month so maybe just cancel the thing. & all my pics are on a Sony handy cam, takes good pix but you have to down load from a chip & I always skip a step or something, I don't want to lose the pix I have now like I've done before, it took a while to take them, a couple hundred like always so I don't have to continually call Craig for help, it's a bit demeaning.

Well put Ron, good analogy "Thanks"
-
Yes "Thank you Al" I looked last night, found them and I do have about 2 quart jars of them. As Ric was saying the reds and oranges on these pops out like a sore thumb, quite bright colors. Good to add a name to the face as always, and once learned hard to forget. Unless you have the occasional brain freeze attacks like me.

ONE more day and I haven't downloaded my new Akros yet, whatever shall I do ??
-
I will throw mine in for a strange master as well, I have several snow globes, both slightly translucent like Bruce's and one killer transparent 7/8ths I've posted here 2 or three times. Sometimes the mistakes come out better than the original. Good stuff !!

Great info folks, another post that started out so small and bloomed into a great pool of knowledge " Fantastic" just why I'm here, the learning and sharing never ends.
-
I have 4 just bought 2 more, lets see that's.... well I guess I'll get there some day, I always did like those Pelt replacement marbles in that jar, that's pretty crazy, "Thanks Ron" great pix. Great for my folders "Much appreciated"

Well I got em all except those foreign jobs, I have some but never knew what they where, I always thought the wales were bigger?? Recognized the veneered Vitro and yes I agree on the first one last pic being a Master brushed patch also, just 2,3 & 5, I have 100's of marbles like them in a jars somewhere in every color conceivable. Would be nice to at least know what I have after this many years.
-
They all look Vitro & master to me, I'm not Very familiar with either. Don't collect them only incidental catches. Best wait for a few more to chime in on this one. Best guess is the first 11 pics all look Vitro for sure to me, I think they're called phantom conquerors. And the first one in the last pic sure looks like a Master brushed patch ?? I don't want to mislead so I'm out on this one Tommy.

N.Y.C. is where my Pressman tiddlywinks game is from, I got it mainly for the Alley glass cup in the game, they where always broke because they were so thin. I suppose the glass was made by Alley and the cardboard box and pieces were from N.Y.C. ?? I'll submit pics of 3 or 4 games I just got after my friend downloeds from my camcorder, I still haven't learned as hard as I try don't want to delete pics that took me hours to take.

They look like Japanese pinchers to me ?? Yes very nice

"Good show AL." I need to find that chinker check instruction book you have to go with my board and bag, didn't even know it existed. The Akro & the Hop Ching are great to, anything cardboard that survived is a miracle. I picked up a Chinese Checkers & Chess combo game today. All the pieces are there with a little built in droors on each side to hold the pieces, marbles are plastic so late 50's early 60's, at $10.00 a no brainer. Ill have some pix pretty soon. "Great collection Al" Thanks for posting the pix.

I'm very grateful to have grown up when I did. What a fantastic time to be alive, I often dream of childhood friends & the things we done, no cells, no P.C., no flat screens, no web, we lived in the country and stayed outside every second we could, clear till dark we found or created things to do, mostly from our imaginations, sometimes leading to us getting into trouble as children do, making some lifelong friends & memories along the way. In my mind Opie was my neighbor. "Thanks" for the reflections Steph, life then was so simple, so grand, I don't regret even one second !!

This is one of the bags of gaming marbles, just lookin for more pics of different bags or boxes full or empty. Please present yours if you have them !! Include the boards also if you have them. "Thank You" Chad G.

Yes seems like we always had a few in the house when I was a kid. Think I'll grow one and turn it into a bonsai, or at least try to. Some trees just wont do it. I used to look for natural bonsai on the cliffs' at the coast here. You can tell by the size of the needles on the tree if bonsai or not. A natural will already have miniature needles on it and have partial older looking tree aspects. By needles I mean pine. We used to get $400.00 for a good natural from the buyer, not many left anymore, it's all been logged or heavily gleaned and most all of the trees have already been taken. I am also looking foreword to the long lazy days of summer, it seems to go by so fast anymore, when I was young I thought it would never end, I try to keep that child alive in me so I don't become an old curmudgeon.

"You're welcome" We are all here to help & inform each other, that's what this forum is for to me, sharing & learning. "Please" watch a couple tutorials on pics first, don't go on my word alone, remember I learned it all here. There are some excellent ones right here as well as links to photography sites that will tell you tell exactly what bulbs to buy, backgrounds, colors, etc... I think mine are I chucked the boxes so I'm not sure, just the wattage. You'll find out which one works best with your camera. A little experimentation & attention to detail will take you a long ways, my first pics here looked like they were taken in a snow storm on a foggy day. "Good luck & have fun doing it" Chad G. I think my friend gets his from Amazon, I buy mine at Walmart, they work fine for me, the research will really pay off, you will see the difference in your pics immediately, a link to some bulbs, these are a little spendy and I try to get by on the cheap. So not saying to buy them here just a place for you to go and get some kind of idea what people use, personally I think watching a couple tutorials will put you "light" years ahead. Ahh !! contact, my old friend has returned to the hideout, starting to look like my home these days, talk about a shut in nation, boy this pandemic thing really sucks 😠!! On a more positive note how's Tiny ?? Anymore growth yet, still hangin in there ? I can see his little head sticking out in the last pic you submitted. Hi Tiny maybe you can join me and bring a little ray of sunshine into this dark place ?? Getting hard for me to see !!
-
Yes, wow !! a whole new "light" X 2 not slags. "Thanks for the new pics" now closer to the true Identity, a lot less guessing, personally I never use a flash on marbles or glass, to much refraction and reflection, it doesn't bode well with my pictures. I always use at least a 5000 k 40-60 watt, eq. (13w) actual bulb to come as close to natural blue sunlight as possible and cut out all the yellows from a regular bulb or flash. I learned all my info between the two forums, fantastic tutorials. I take my pics then "review them before submission" to be sure I'm giving an accurate account of the natural visual appearance. 95% of making an accurate I.D. is in the photos, the other 5 % is the size and verbal description. I had the feeling it was a flash, "appreciate the extra effort", it certainly paid off in this case, quite the difference, agreed Ron it doesn't even look like the same 2 mibs. The bulbs will pay for themselves many times over, I only pay 5-8 $$ a bulb from any hardware or regular store like Walmart, these bulbs cast a blue spectrum like natural sunlight instead of the yellow as in a regular household bulb, I had to do a little experimentation with them and choosing a "neutral" light or dark background color depending on the color and or transparency of the glass in the mib. Review of my pics is a personal must, alot of the time I think I've taken a killer pic, the upon review "not so good" but improving all the time. Many thanks to all the people who took the time to leave the tutorials and information, we are after all here to help one another. Good luck thanks for the submissions, have fun and stay safe. Chad G.

Maybe the light bulb also playing into it, there is excessive wading and the white isn't as bright as it should be which I attributed to the "lighting" hard for me to judge also Ron, but yes could be swirls. When I look and have to second guess it does leave some question as to the I.D.
-
Yes Bruce !! Personally I like your avatar, you won't find another like it, the way it looks is why you picked it in the first place. I love the ying- yang pattern, especially on some of my larger pelts it actually increased the value because of the outstanding pattern it ended up making. Some people like it some don't (all perspective) just like everything else. If they all looked like that the value increase would be notta. Here is a pic of a metalic (rare) opalescent (rare) Heaton I found in the dug mibs I purchased, looks something like yours. The pics leave something to be desired but it has the little tadpole looking metalic swirl going into the mib and the tail coming out the backside following the flow of the glass, I got lucky on this one, a couple fleas but I'm keepin it, the rest of the Heatons are under multiple feet of dirt, gravel and by now perhaps concrete or pavement.
