  1. I guess I don't know how to load your image's ? I would really like to see them, I've always wanted a strike but could never afford it. Now that I'm on disability probably never will, still nice to look at !! I haven't seen one in 35yr's. because my job's and now disability have kept me tied down.
  2. Steph I just found your tutorial in marble I.D.'s, " seam's and cutline's " great work A #1.
  3. Excellent pic.,here's a pic.from the morphy's auction. Just how many of these are around ? between Al's pic and mine here's 2 .

    More fun

Look's like you have to many mib's , you need to send me about half.
  5. There all pelt's except One, third row up from bottom, the third mib going from left to right. Not a white in the bunch.
  6. "Very nice rainbow Steph" I'll be posting some of my oddball's "sometime" in the near future
  7. It's a kokomo, I know the mighty white is close, That's what thought it was for a long time. I know the color's are a little different in pics's 2 & 3 but row 3 is close the mib I have. For a long, long time the kokomo's w/ the wider stripe's, sometime's split, I had put away w/ my rainbow's, but always wondered about the little fleck's in the glass. Just like the semblance of this one to a white, side by side you can't tell as easy . Although both of us would probably I.D. the white right off the bat.I guess i kinda cheated a little. Also a small bit of opalescence, something a white doesn't have.( AHhh there it is an "exact duplicate to my mib, it say's not to copy so out of respect I won't. Go to West Va. marble collector's club, kokomo glass, pic # 8, 2nd row from the top, clear to the right is my mib's doppelganger.) '
  8. The only bird cage I've ever seen is the pic of the one sold @ morphy's, I could never swing A marble like that, maybe a lightning strike if I was willing to spend my entire tax return, I talked to wvrons 'Ron" and he said he see's a strike every couple year's, usually running anywhere between 1500 to 3000 apiece but hasn't been able to get his hand's on one as of yet.
  9. The bottom two are alley superman marble's " Very nice " ( Check for annealing fracture's ) I'm not quite sure of the top, base color and ribbon's are a little off, but probably also alley.
  10. Hi Bruce, I've found my best flintie's have such a good fish eye in them you can actually put a flash light on one end and see light on the other. Akro moonie's have fish eyes Christensen don't, there are so many different opalescent marble's I gave up . There look's like a bluish tinge to the first mib you have, top L , maybe? a Christensen if no fisheye's ?? I think I've seen one or two outside of marble show's which if you can I would highly recommend attending the nearest one to you. I prefer going one or both of the day's before the show, you get first look and a person to person education on your favorite marble's. 99% of the people @ the show's are there to help you and all to happy to give a little friendly guidance. Steph posted a killer tutorial on seams and fisheye's, all sort's of Identifier's. in " marble I.D. 's " On Aug. 12, Just what you're lookin for.
  11. Somethin new every day, keep's me motor runnin. " Thank's Bruce" Don't worry you're in good company allot of people have no idea what they are I just wanted to
  12. These marble's where in between 1.25 and 1.80 " mostly". All were handmade, If you look closely you'll see the pontil's on them, been around a long, long time. A very expensive marble to acquire, if you can find one. These picture's are very authentic. The last I heard of any being sold was in the 90's when everyone was chasing after the handmade German's, including me. A very beautiful marble in my opinion considering when they where made.
  13. A very rare type of old handmade, so few made they're a really hard marble to track down. They always came 1" size's or better. "Yes" they are a legit marble. All I can find anymore are picture's or I would post info, that's why I started this thread in the first place. I guess not many people have an affinity for old handmade German's like I do anymore??
  14. I know when I started collecting this marble was quite sought after, I never have seen one or met up with anybody that has one. I would sure like to talk to someone who does, look's like a somewhat different process than the norm for an old handmade. I can't find anything on them anymore, anywhere except pic's, no info.
  15. II've had a lot of moonie's just never kept them, just curious ??
  16. These are some of the original plastic bag's from assorted company's that Ron was talking about. Note how every one no matter what the company has the seam down the center, something to look for. This is why I keep the folder. I have hundred's of pic's of net bag's and sale's advertising picturing the bag's for reference. wvrons has already posted several pic's of these on this thread, along w/ several mesh bag's." None " of the new plastic fantasy bag's have this seam.
  17. Anyone seen any of these lately ?? I've never seen one in person, ever, in over 35 yrs. are they just that rare or what ??? Say's they're always around an inch or more. All these are between 1 1/4 " and 1 1/2 " the last pic I have no idea, saved it off the old marbleforum.
  18. I have several flintie's that I stumbled upon when using a bright light looking through jar's and can's of mib's, at the time I didn't even know what they where.. The fish eye traveling through the marble is distinctive to Akro. I don't have any moonie's ( I don't think ) Akro or Christensen. Probably because I never looked for them. Anyway are the fish eye's the same in a moonie, meaning do they continue through the marble like a flintie ??
  19. I should have specified fantasy right off the bat. They can make the staple's rust in one day using diluted muriatic acid w/ water ( also painted on tin advertisement sign's around the edge's to give the appearance of an old rusty sign ) E bay has 100's of these bag's, usually all posted @ the same time and same price by the same person. I have the other pic of the alley salesman box posted but chose just the one, if I put them all there you'd be scrolling for 10 minute's. Thank's for all the info Ron, your help is as always, greatly appreciated. I keep a folder w/ all the picture's of original packaging I can find in it, along w/ the sale price when I see something sold. That's where I retrieved these pic's from. I keep the folder to check against fake boxes, bag's tin's what have you, with well over a couple 1000 pic's of original packaging, from every company I know of. I'm trying to build a sort of data base so i don't get taken to the cleaner's on any new purchases.
  20. These are all most definitely Alley. No matter what alley you look @ they all seem to have the long swirling pattern distinctive to alley, that's why it was easy to pick them out of 50 marble's the exact same color.
  21. Thank's for The clarification Ron. When I did find the one I have I was using a super bright light, had a sore back and eaten half a bottle of ibuprofen. also out of the same 2 or three gallon's of gamer's I found a couple gumball's about 5 master solid av. and 1 or 2 solid akro ox, the Akro where easier to find , much bigger near 11/16's. I love any Alley marble's all worth it to me. Just like anything else never do it half "" "". 👍
