  1. Just an old term used for a lighter brown colored oxblood.
  2. Just an old term for the lighter chocolaty color, sorry if it look's red, it's not I'm looking for a sunlight pic of the same mib right now, don't know why it did that , same bulb same neutral matting everything, those pics where probably taken a couple minutes apart. Ah !! here it is a side by side w/ the chocolate and the anemic taken in the sunlight. Chocolate is an old term I guess, I've called it that for 20 yrs. Here's the pics. You can see the lighter shade of ox in the first pic of the big blue ace beside the anemic, second is the yellow egg yolk looking anemic next to a lemonade swirl, third pic is of two silver ox w/ what I consider to be normal oxblood color ( very similar to a brick ) The blue ace in the first pic has an extremely light brown color of ox, hence the name chocolate. Names change, known manufacturer's change, I'm here to learn, not like the guy I met @ the marble show who told me he had every color of Akro prize name corks made. I looked @ him and then his 8-10 cases of prize names and said "why yes you do" in my head I know that's impossible unless you had every one ever made, the shades of color varied between almost every marble. I guess it's just my opinion, old habit's are hard to break, but definitely a big difference in the colors of the three types of ox I have presented. Marbles are after all a matter of perspective and everyone has a different one. I am however here to learn and have some fun while I do it. Regards, Chad G.
  3. Here's a lemonade w/ the reg. colored oxblood. Same light. pics all taken @ the same time, same bulb, the colors are quite accurate. There's three distinct colors here, I've seen variances here and there but consider each of these ox colors to be spot on. Please if you have something to add I'm all ears ( and eye's ), anxious to learn anything new Al, or something I've been taught that was wrong and need's to be straightened out. Chad G.
  4. The ox blood looks almost black in hand, a big difference between those and the chocolate ox I have, here's a blue ace w/ choc ox. A definite difference, both mib pics where taken under the same light, what do you consider anemic Al ?? I was always led to believe the dark burnt looking ox blood was the anemic type ??
  5. Another antique pee-wee game board, wish I had seen it before it sold. Looking @ the paint and the way the wood grain goes I believe it's the same board I have listed above that sold on Ebay 3-4 years ago w/ some pee-wee's.. Look @ the chip second pic then look @ the last pic above w/ the tape measure, we have an exact match, tells me not that many this size floating around, think I'll just make one. Much cheaper and I already have the German pee-wee's to fill it.
  6. On Oct. 31st 2020 the second mib will be revealed in it's entirety. Post your best guess before the deadline for your free "atta boy" or "girl" !!
  7. Great mibs man, I'm so looking forward to getting some clear base that don't have any hits or wear. The opaque and the transparent are both beautiful but I do prefer the transparent. So !! what do I always find ?? of course you already know the answer. Very nice, thanks Now where's mine ???????????????
  8. A few Akro with dark anemic oxblood, both non uv. ace or moss agate base glass, a yellow egg yolk colored anemic ox swirl and a blue ace w/ anemic oxblood.
  9. !00 % yes, onionskin always have a solid undercoat of white covered in one or a multiple of other color's, the lutz is a bonus, absolute beauties, who cares about a slight amount of damage those mibs are 100 to near 180 yrs. old.

  13. Them pics are probably gonna be a might incriminatin Bill !! Don't get rid of the bag.
  14. Very nice mibs De Roberto, I agree w/ you 100 %, I think a lot of the newer generation is into much more the contemporary mibs, not that they aren't great I do have a few but they probably feel the same as me about them ask themselves why I don't have a large selection of contemporary's. Times change as they do, when you go to the antique store now it's mostly "vintage" instead of antiques. When I started there was no "vintage" dep't. I think the antique marbles are absolutely beautiful, the first ones I started collecting seriously. I use to have a couple thousand of them in my first collection, lost through the course of a divorce in 09.

  23. I was going to say M.K. on the one w/ the straight seam also but so hard to tell on these gamers, are they old ? new ? I would prefer to look through the older one's, I believe these to be newer just going on the fact I'm having difficulty in I.D. ing them. Went through thousand's of them and generally can tell, not so w/ these.
  24. Here's the correct insulator made by Alley @ the Pennsboro location between 1934-1937, made on the so dubbed corn cobb machine info courtesy of Ron S. , I believe I have the correct one this time, makes for an excellent display. I put two 31/32nds Alley mibs in it, a good stand, wish I would have bought them all, went back to get the rest, notta, Oh well @ least I have this one.
