Ok, here we go, my name is Liam, started collecting with my father back in the 80's....I love Germans, especially anytype of opaque glass Germans, love my CAC's, Akros and some Pelts. So my collection is overloaded with those. Frankly I love them all. I collect old American and German tin toys and antique oil paintings as well. I'm a chef, so hobbies include, cooking, eating, drinking and collecting wine...and now that I'm older trying to get back in shape and start mountain biking again. Good to be here and to keep learning.

Here's a shot....Alox Agate....I have a few of these type, though with thicker white striations found in the rarer 30 ct Tic Tac Toe Alox box. But this could be something newer as well.

Picked up a cool old jobber box of super old agates, an akro moss agate, an akro moonie and my favorite part 2 MF Christensen bricks.....this one the nicer of the two! I'll post the other pics soon. -

My first impression is vitro for sure, maybe transparent patch. -
Looking through my vitro jars and found this....any thoughts? Never seen a shrunken solid core like center on a vitro like this, but characteristics look vitro....I'm stuck...any ideas?

Tough one, Akro, possibly CAC, then again could be a euro slag..ughh!!
-
Def CAC, have a few with that color combo...nice
-
Thanks for the confirmation!! Oh, and in hand the Inky blue pops a bit more then what the picture captures.
-
7/8"...so a good size for CAC....I wish..Euro I never even thought of..
-
Always thought ordinary slag... But white glass only surface area, nothing inside..so maybe striped transparent?
-
Yea I saw that, insane! Good lookn mib..all my sparklers have dings, none are mint or that many colors.
-
I'm no Pelt head...but pretty sure Inky Rainbo....not 100% sure, seams can't see, almost blended together. Vaseline opalescent base..really pretty marble, coming in at 5/8".....what do you think?
-
I agree with the above as well, the CAC is spot on, but maybe better bang for the buck options on striped opaques...The Pelt is nice....wee bit high, but if u like it, get it!!!
-
Certainly disappointing on the Clarksburg front....maybe I will just stick to antique stores in western PA and maybe get lucky and have an Iron City as well.....
-
Yea, I forgot....illegal to dig.....anyways, I'm going from Pittsburgh to VA, any recs on any reputable dealers?
-
I have used Etsy, and honestly I sold on Mercari for ease of listing.....I also bought on Mercari and found some really nice mibs there...you just constantly have to be on top of that site. Recently I have been purchasing on Facebook auctions as well.
-
Coming back from Pittsburgh on Saturday, and I am heading into Clarksburg for a marble hunt. Any recs on where I should go to buy......maybe dig......1st time there.

That glazed China or very close to it.. is in Everitt Grists marble books. I've always loved the painted glazed china's, seen a few like that unglazed as well.

All divided, 2nd one looks to be coreless, hard to tell. Nice marbles
