That third image does resemble the "New World"--good eye Steph. Wisconsin is a big white glob--it won't be long until that is true Marble--On!!

The "Score!" thread. Post your exciting finds here...
akroorka replied to bumblebee's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
The 150 box came with a variety of marbles. Usually corkscrews of the Prize name or “Snakes” family with a variety of colored base glass. Fancier corkscrews were added to these boxes. I do not think that the white based corks were original to this box. The larger #200 tin came with Mossy patches sometimes, the variety with a UV glow. So I imagine the 150 tin may have had them as well. Tricolor or other patches would not belong in a tin. I do not believe that oxbloods of any type were included either. You will see them filled with a variety of different marbles. The text that I present is just based on my personal research. 5 rows of 5/8” all the same in each row. 4, 13/16” marbles all the same style ( sometimes “Moonies”or “Flinties” of the same color) 5, 9/16” marbles these were commonly “Flintie” in a combination of 5 colors. The five rows went inside of the square box the other two sizes went along side of it. You may be able to make out the marks on the bottom of the tin were they originally were. The pouch was stored in the larger insert box; sometimes a knee pad was included with or instead of the pouch. These boxes also came with a set of rules for “How to play the game of Ringer”. Take it easy on the clasp that keeps the lid closed, push in below it before opening, these are usually broken. Nice tin!! Have fun, I love filling these boxes. Marble—On!! -

I just love the earth toned and wood grained looking marbles that are out there. This one is 15/16” and just a very nice one to hold and gaze at. Marble—On!!

A blue Muddy? Why not? This one is 7/8” and not as muddy as the green striped ones---but still pretty “muddy” I love me a good Muddy!! Marble—On!!

If you have any images that you are willing to share of some classic cut lines or traits of a particular manufacturer of the little orbs that we are all addicted to. Please do so. I was doing some sorting today and found this little orb. I did not think that it was an Akro until I really looked hard. The cut lines are classic Akro and the little eyelashes are a trait that others may have but always will point towards Akro. This is not a common one but research paid off. Give us your best examples of any that you have and lets makes this a great thread. Marble—On!!

Nice find Mojo (what is up with the lion profile image?) Marble--On!!

This one bugs me. It is just over 5/8”. I hand it just sparkles with AV( it really sparkles). It was loaded with white crap that I would expect to find in a dug marble and I was able to brush most of it off with a toothbrush. The first image shows a buried cutline right through the middle (bottom right to top left). The second image shows what looks like a raised dense green but it is also a cutline and the green in the base glass. The green is very dense opaque. The third image shows the best of the AV that I could get, it just went away under flash. I know that everyone will think that this is a Vacor. I need some deeper looks and thoughts on this one. Thanks and Marble—On!!
