    What ?

It could be a furnace marble. One that rolled down the ductwork and into the houses furnace. It got a bit to close to the burner and Voilà. The furnace repair dudes use to find these more often in days gone by. The holes in the grills were much bigger then. All sorts of toys met their demise in this way. One of my jobs as a kid was vacuuming the dust out of the ductwork, I would suck up marbles all of the time, coins always made a real cool sound in the Kirby’s vacuum hose. I can hear it now—a voice from the past. “FIRE” QUIT PUTTING MARBLES IN THE COLD AIR EXCHANGE” (little rolling sounds in the background, plunk, roll, roll, roll, plunk, roll, roll, roll.) Marble—On!!
  2. I think that this one is a slag. The second image shows some internal twisting—it may be hand-gathered. The red mark looks like it is a cutoff mark. The larger of the two ghostly images side by side in images 1 and 3 may have a tail that submerged under it. Cool marble—no maker from me. Marble—On!!
  3. Vitro "Aqua--something"--"Aquamarine" maybe. Thats a very nice marble---size?? Marble--On!!!
  4. These are usually referred to as "Wirepulls". Usually these will have one continuous un-broken stream of glass. Good luck trying to follow it throughout the marble. Marble—On!!
  5. It is a very nice one--great marble. Marble--On!!
  6. Here is a yellow one @7/8"'. The white displays as a very light pink color under UV light. Marble--On!!
  7. This is damage Leigh and it looks like it took a nicely centered, hard hit. The little “buttefly wings that look like inverted oyster shells are chips, the hit occurred in the center of these wings where the little circle of glass is. It probably compressed just enough in that area to force the chips out. Marble—On!!
  8. Could this one be a Veiligglas marble? Marble--On!!
  9. I like this one--shine a bright light on it and look for some Aventurine--Sparkly stuff. A PPP white and black--simple but great stuff to dive into. Marble--On!!
  10. Seams were not an issue with me Fire--just the color. They could well be PPP---just odd ones. Marble--On!!
  11. There is not a collector here, past or present that would not jump on these at $2. Nice find!! Marble--On!!
  12. You are on the right track--Great research on your part. Peltier Acme Realers are a nice find. Marble--On!!
  13. The green and white one---#4--- may be an Akro---the rest are Pelt Peerless Patches imho. Great marbles!! Marble--On!!
  14. They smell pretty good here in Wisconsin mibcapper--I say this as I sniff my washed but still great smelling fingers. Nice marble by the way---is it a Sparkler?---love it. Marble--On!!
  15. Jabos I think---nice bright white on these. More opinions are needed. Marble--On!!
  16. Another Grey/Great day in Wisconsin---lets Sparkle it up a bit. Akro Sparklers---what more can be said? I am foraging Ramp leaves today, a great meal lays ahead—Sunday best for sure. Marble—On!!
  17. Great eye Ron, and great assessment Guiltynotguilty81. I recall reading that these Jabo tank-wash marbles were not too successful and that one in this shape is a great find. Regardless, it is a very nice looker. Marble—On!!
  18. No glow to these. They are not a common Akro oxblood to find in my experience. If I do find one it is usually pretty beat up. Marble--On!!
  19. The second image shows what looks like damage to me and not a pontil. If that is the case it is an Amber Machine made “slag” imho. Marble—On!!
  20. I think that you have a Vacor "Dragon". Nice marble. Marble--On!!
  21. That is a nice one Leigh. Good eye. It is a tad bigger than you show as well. Measure the marble where the caliper edges meet when it is closed for a more accurate measurement. Marble—On!!
  22. That dark one has what looks like Marble. A Marble marble---very cool. MarbleMarble--On!!
  23. Yes Chad that is it--not gooseberry LOL. I had heard/read also that they were all dug. I think that the two darker ones that I show above may be "Mulberry Bricks". If they did come from a dig--they faired very well. Either way, I love em. Thanks for bailing me out with the name---again😁. Marble--On!!
  24. Here are two “Gooseberrys”( I still am not sure of the name) or darker Cornelians vs a more normal red one in the lower right. These are very well covered—most are not, very sparse would be the word—and they are very hard to ID. Marble—On!!
