  1. Thanks to you all for chiming in. I will always appreciate a nice Peltier marble. I think that it will go with my collection of "Coral" colored marbles--luv em. Marble On!!
  2. A fitting name for sure. The deer leave this one alone along with the squirrels, chipmunks and rabbits. Thank you for all of the information Da Roberto. I have passed it on to the succulent boss and she sends her most gracious thank you as well. We have some frost advisories tonight, now the fun begins and I will find out why the animals leave them be. Have a great day!
  3. Pretty cool! House fire maybe? I can agree with Vitro--or ??😁. Marble--On!!

    Vitro?

Well, I want everything to be an Akro but I believe that what you are showing is a nice Vitro. I am not too good with individual names. All opinions are welcomed. Marble—On!!
  5. The middle one is a Vacor ā€œRed Devilā€. The one on the right is an Akro and it is very close to being a well filled ā€œPopeyeā€, maybe not but close imho. The left hand one---hmmm, I think that you are right WVS. It does look semi Peltish though. All opinions are welcomed and needed. Marble—On!!
  6. Funny thing, I am getting ate up on another possible Pelt post that I thought was an Imperial and here I am again. I think that this one is a Pelt. I might be slipping! That green ring around the bubble just freaks me out, most of the matrix is more of a linear brown. Well give me your best. This one is 5/8ā€. Thanks, and--- Marble—On!!
  7. Ohh, by the way. I have not eaten Crow on a Pelt ID for awhile and I am looking forward to it---just getting ready—serve it up. I deserve it for sure. I had a friend tell me once that it tastes kind-of like Mud-hen!! I did not dine with him often---never in fact. I just love this stuff! Marble On!!
  8. A few more images never hurt. There is no UV reaction. Have fun my marble collecting friends. As always all opinions are welcomed and needed. Marble—On!!
  9. Here are two that we need an ID on Da Roberto. The first one is placed to keep the deer away from some others and it has never flowered, it is about 16ā€ tall and wide. The second one has not flowered either and it is tiny, 2-3 inches tall and wide. The third we know well, I just like the color of the flowers, coral rocks. I show the blossom and the plant. The last is not related, just a Passion flower bloom for you to enjoy today. Thanks, a Passion for flowers is a good thing!
  10. OK, Da Roberto you seem to know your stuff regarding marbles and succulents and thanks for that. My wife has asked if you can tell her why the plant shown is getting mushy at the base. I am showing a new flower from today and the base of the cacti. Succulent—On!!
  11. With buttons like that, I suggest a white shirt----no tiešŸ‘“. Marble--On!!
  12. OK I'llhavethat1, I will call your popcorn eating and raise it to this. Popcorn eating means something to me😁. If it is the garden, well frost advisories are out in my area for Thursday night and Friday morning and most of the plants in my garden will be toast. I just spent five hours clearing out the bad plants and putting them into compost. If it is the marble----say what must be said, I do not judge. I welcome all opinions---really I do! I am not the smartest collector when it comes to ID's by any means. I just try. Marble on my marble collecting friend!
  13. Thanks for that information. Rubber gloves--on!!
  14. Hello 58impala, I really like the name! Your first one is a Vacor, probably a ā€œSeahorseā€ā€”a nice marble and an easy one to confuse with a Pelt. The second one needs some more input but I believe that it is a Vitro. This is a nice one. Welcome and Marble—On!!
  15. Here is a nice bunch of Master Made Marbles. They are always a bonus in my realm. There are a few here that may be argued to be made by another maker and I always welcome that. Go ahead and change my mind. All opinions are always welcomed and appreciated. Marble—On!!
  16. Here is a nice wood grain looking ā€œOpalā€ showing some pocket wear. Marble-On!!
  17. As you can see my wife is into succulents. The first flower is just closing—more to come. The red things are new and we do not know if they are flowers or not. The big spiky one has been around for four years now, a BD present from a loving husband. It really grows and is about to flower again. It needs repotting—good luck dear! Cacti on!!
  18. I have a tree like this in the back forty and have been collecting these little orbs for at least 30 years, picking them up when they fall to the ground. A picture frame or something like that is in the not too distant future. They are sized from really small up to four inches in diameter ā€œThere are at least 232 species of the fungus Phomopsis. Several of these produce abnormal swellings (galls) on bitternut hickory trees. The galls are identical in appearance and identification of the associated species in the field is not possibleā€. Thanks Minnesotaseasons.com. Round things on!!
  19. At first I thought that it might be a big Pelt, then I turned it over---nope a nice big ā€œImperialā€. 25 years ago I would have been pouring over the books trying to make it a Pelt—LOL---those were the days when I learned the most. I am still learning every day thanks to you all. I am just in a sharing mood today, the garden is dying and I am getting some marble time back. Thanks all and of course--- Marble—On!!
  20. I am sure of one thing, if I have any Kokomos they are with my Pelts--Well said in my case for sure. Marble--On!!
  21. It is a simple question with a difficult answer. "Out of round" should be applied during a sale to a certain extent. "Slightly out of round" can apply to a lot of marbles, especially the ones in question in the OP. Expecting any seller to measure all of the marbles they sell is just not going to happen. Individual ones for a hefty price is a different thing. Individual marbles that start at 5 bucks and are bid up by a variety of buyers—who can blame the seller for that? "Out of round" should be applied to the obvious. ā€œSlightly out of roundā€ to the expensive Egg Shaped--well, you know. ā€œPerfectly roundā€---hmmm? MFC was trying to produce the very best to compete with the ā€œGermans" but they still let a few pass I am sure. The trouble with online sales is that the new technology in imaging still produces images that make round objects in macro images look "Out of round". Selling marbles, it is still a sellers dilemma and a buyers paradise imho. When to buy and when to pass is all on the buyer. My daughter was ā€œantiquing in the Chicago area last weekend and she sent me an image of a jar of marbles (love it, yes I buy jars, always have and will) I said buy it! And have been thinking of it ever since. I will not see it until the end of the year but the potential is killing me. There are some new sellers with little patience selling old marbles, it is a great combination in my world. I have never posted any negative feedback on ebay. Either I am at fault for not doing my due diligence, or the buyer is for not doing theirs. I can accept defeat but I am batting 1000 when the seller is wrong. It takes time and patience, I should have been a Lawyer---not😁. Just my thoughts. Marble—On!!
