  1. The third image may show a melted pontil on the far left. Size matters and by the way Fire--lol--- does it glow under UV😁? Marble--On!!
  2. There are so many folks eating popcorn or ā€œwaiting to seeā€ the next post with this subject that I decided to put a response together myself. Vacor Roosters, also known as ā€œRed Roosterā€, Rocky Roosterā€ and a variety of other names, some foreign to the USA, are a very popular marble world-wide and you can see why. These were and are made in a variety of runs and the colors that I show are just a small example of the shades and fill. Some of these base colors I could swear are orange. They all have one thing in common—the lack of a bubble filled base glass. The red is very clear and well made while the white has a tendency to run or melt/spread on the surface. The Vacor website claims that these have ā€œOrange Swirlsā€ but I have not seen any on the surface—just buried under the ā€œRedā€. The second set of images shows three different runs with folds, not uncommon with Vacor marbles (or any other make as far as that goes) This is not an attempt to sway browncat73 from his most positive ID on the OP marble, just an attempt to save CG from the DARKSIDE of collecting Pelts, who by the way has made a very good argument regarding this marble imho. I have researched Vacors for many years and I have well, a few too many nets. Not just because of the resemblance to Pelts but others as well. That is for another thread. The OP is a Vacor---no doubt in my humble mind. Marble On!!
  3. I just held on to a nice round head last week. My newborn nine pound two ounce GREAT-Grandson, I had to comment on what a nice round head he had. No images--yet. Round heads --On!!
  4. Nice shots of AV Chad--excellant images! Here is a darker Red Zebra @ 11/16". There seems to be two whites in this marble but I will still call it a Zebra.(What else really) Marble--On!!
  5. Ghost marbles imho.šŸ‘»!! Images always help😁. Marble--On!!
  6. Well that is a wee one. I would put it with my Akro marbles. All opinions are appreciated and welcomed. Marble--On!!
  7. Vacor Rooster X2--nice marble--not a Pelt. All opinions are appreciated and needed. Marble--On!!
  8. No, just the start of another marble type. They did not shut down the furnace unless it was broken--or the gas bill was not paid😁.
  9. The first one, yellow and white on a greenish looking transparent base, did not come off of the rollers as intended. The greenish base glass points me towards Pelt but it would be a strange one. The brown in the second one is kinda strange for a cat. Master Glass made some oddball cats but yours rings no bells for me. More opinions are needed and always appreciated. Marble—On!!
  10. My first reaction was oooooh, very nice marble! My second reaction was, I think that it may be a ā€œtweenerā€ made in between runs of different models. I would keep it with my Akro Agates just because it reminds me of the ones that I post below. The green gets me here as well as the white, the white looks opal and I have always thought that these clear based Ox patches had it as well—it is just really hard to tell because of the oxblood included. I have only seen these in green included and yellow included. Perhaps Akro made an orange one and a red one as well. All opinions are welcomed and needed. Marble—On!!
  11. The one on the right is either an Akro or a Master Made ā€œCometā€. They both made some very similar opaque patch types. I will give a lean towards Akro though. Marble—On!!
  12. Sure, That makes sense, with all of those colors I think that the masses may have it right---Better images are always a plus. Marble--On!!
  13. A better look at the on the left showing the cutlines may turn it into a Pelt Rainbo---or not. I do not see any Akro here. The one on the right is a WVS. Marble—On!!
  14. Vacor "Ice 2". The toe breakers made by Vacor will commonly take on looks a tad different than their smaller siblings. Marble—On!!
  15. Vacor makes a similar marble called ā€œLibertyā€. I would compare it just to make sure. Vacor marbles can be all over the place construction wise. Marble—On!!
  16. Very nice, I have never even heard a whisper of one of those in existence. Thanks for sharing it! Marble—On!!
  17. Idiot may be taking it a bit far, mixed up fits in quite well with the rest of us here---sometimes anyhow. Here is a pair of images of a handmade ā€œclearieā€, Notice the stretch of the bubbles and the swirl action of the glass. The pontils are quite noticeable as well. Use this for reference vs yours. Marble—On!!
  18. Try some black(UV) light on the postage date stamp Jason W, it may reveal something hidden. Marble--On!!
  19. 1911 - 1914, the Akron era. ( this is a quote from Steph in the link that I posted earlier). It does not get much better than this. Steph is the research person to go to in the world of collectable machine made marbles. ā€œStephs Study Hallā€ is a work of art that will be appreciated for many years to come. The pit bull of research is she. It is an Antique box and it may be one of one that has survived. Thanks again for sharing it with the world. Marble—On!!
  20. I think this one is an Akro. All opinions are welcomed and needed. Marble—On!!

  22. I am far from an expert regarding Champion Furnace Swirls but the following page has me thinking that there may be a few in the OP. https://www.westvirginiaswirls.com/champion What do you all think?? Marble—On!!
