  1. I wish that I could call this one for you Gladys. I know what you mean about the mintish/white color---no clue--sorry. They kindof have a glow to them in the sunlight, very unique. It is a nice one--much better in hand I am sure. Marble--On!!!
  2. Not an Akro Fire. Not a Master either. I just call them like I see them. Foriegn made imho. Marble--On!!
  3. I was searching some slag’s awhile back for a post and I found these. I love the “corn husk” name for these and I search for them. I must have thought at the time that they were MFC marbles. Probably the best, most accurate nickname for a marble—ever. These are both ¾”, beat up and obviously played with. You have to love this stuff---I do. Marble—On!!
  4. This one is a “dug” marble imho. It screams it to me. A Pelt—maybe. Many others for sure. I think that this one may display some opalescent qualities. Double Ingots come in all sizes and I would not say that they are all double pee-wee’s in any case. Cool beans for sure! Marble—On!!
  5. We will have to agree to disagree on this one Ric. They very early machine makers did, no doubt, compete with intent against handmades. I believe that it was a poor Master Glass answer to the Japanese invasion of cat eyes that were flooding the market at that time. Onionskins were a thing of the past imho. Vitro and MK were successful, Master Glass was not. Marble—On!!
  6. Great eye Ric, The blue and white like the OP are the ones that I like the most. The base is very clear and really nice to look at/through. They can be very feathery and well filled. Almost “Sparkler” like with only two colors. I do like the ones that you really have to look at to see if they are a cat or a cleary with a bad streak. It is hard to tell sometimes. Marble--On!!
  7. You shoot the wett-est looking marbles that I have ever seen. Great images, great marbles!! Marble-On!!!
  8. Here are images of the marbles that came in the bag along with the one in question. Just what I would expect in a bag of Master Glass cats. The second image shows the bag. Notice the top of the image. It shows where a fold let loose during shipment. This fold would continue to open if I very slightly forced it. I have no doubts about the integrity of this seller he/she would have happily replaced it and expressed untold remorse for the bag tear that happened en route. I have no question about the bag or the seller. The Marble is just very odd considering its lack of value---to most at least—lol (I love these MG-cats, even the bad ones). What a great place to post this is, I am getting opinions on Master Glass Cat-eyes, the forgotten step-child of all USA made marbles. Thanks all and of course--- Marble—On!!
  9. Ok folks, I realize that cats eyes have not received as much attention as they may deserve, let alone Master Glass cats eyes. (I love an underdog) This is a Master Glass cats-eye---- it is better than average imho (less the damage). I opened a bag that I purchased from the most respected Cats-eye collector out there. This one stuck out. The damage appears to be corrected/polished. These bags are hard to fake—and who would want to? I hope that you all get the idea from my images. The damage is what I would consider to be moons that busted lose. They are all smooth on the edges of the damage, as if “polished”, no sharp edges at all. I have seen plenty of “polished” machine made marbles (I really hate them). I believe that this might be a factory thing. Really???? Did they do this? Marble—On!!! Thanks for any opinions.
  10. Nice big one Gladys--I love them. Are the small ones "ghosts"? Marble-On!!
  11. If this is good, what is top notch? It is top notch in my book! A really, really, beautiful example---just a great marble!! Thanks for sharing it!(what is it?) Marble—On!!
  12. Well, I will take a shot at these. I really cannot remember a purple patch like these ever coming across my fingers/eyes. Purple is kind of rare color in any machine made marble. I would sort them as Marble Kings—earlier. The last group looks like Vitro to me and I will stick with that---vintage in both cases imho. As always—more opinions are needed and respected. Marble—On!!
  13. If you are worried about Sorcery you have it in the right spot. Metal deters Sorcery. You might want to sprinkle some salt on it and place it under a glass dome as well. It is a great looking marble with great color---no clue on the maker. Marble—On!!
  14. I have been sorting some WVS for Ravenswood thanks to your help in the recent past. The search will continue. Marble--On!!
  15. These are great images Dave13, The second one should be in a book---it really draws you in. Great job, Great Marble!!! Marble--On!!

    Help

Nice "found on a walk" marble Ric. That one traveled a bit though. Great example!! I love it!! I will have to visit WV and go on a few walks🦄. Marble--On!!!
  17. Well Akro75, There are a few named Akros but for me, just having an Akro is enough. I would never be involved in trying to put a name to the very best machine made marbles ever produced. The Akro Agate company did this quite well. They stand alone, on a mountain. To own one is the tops for me in marble collecting, no names needed. Akro Agate works just fine for me. The nick-name “corkscrew” is one that will always be recognized by all collectors without question. The collectors of other companies that have “named” marbles are just trying to keep up with the epitome of machine made marbles. Well, did I stir something up? This might just turn out to be a great question/post. Akro’s rule all others are wannabes. Of course this is all in fun but you asked—your fault. Marble—On!!!
  18. Raccoon---what a great name for a Peltier----now, just find one and name it!!! I have one or two that may qualify. Marble--On!!!
