  3. Chad nailed this one---the OP--good eye Chad and a very nice marble as well. Just my opinion of course but I would sort it as a Pelt MCS . Marble--On!!
  4. Here is a recent rescued one that I picked up for 99 cents---I just love it! Could you have passed it up?---well, I could not, it has found a home with me. 7/8" two ground pontils, a nice clear base--yes beat up but---
  5. I would say no to it being a Peltier Rainbo but yes to it being a Vitro of some sort. As always, more opinions are always welcomed and needed. Marble—On!!
  6. Thanks to you and all of your hard work to keep this site running. Marbnle--On!!
  7. You know Chad, fish livers are a good thing and I know that you get plenty. Eat them up!!
  8. Gladys, There are always two things that we all have in common here at the Marble Connection—Marbles and Marbles Heaven. I could never figure out the Marbles thing myself, if you ever figure out the other, please post it. I would love to collect marbles forever. Live for today and as always---😁. Marble—On!!
  9. The Salvation Army, Saint Vincent DePaul, there are a few others in my area that support non public 1-12 grade school education. I am not a religious dude but I do recognize the good that these folks do for the poor and out of sorts. I have a shop in my town that has some really great stuff for sale and it attracts a flock of folks of all kinds that get good, really affordable stuff that is regularly rotated there, no junk. You can also consider a few of the great marble clubs that support the area that they thrive in as well as provide access to ID for newbies and club news along with shows. The West Virginia Marble Collectors Club has been a leader for years. (I am not a member, nor have I been to a show). There are a few others as well that will do your marbles justice and not take them for a monetary contribution but distribute them as needs be and your desires as asked. There are many options because Marble collectors will be around for a long, long time after we pass on our cute little orbs to the next generation. Sadly, we cannot take them with us but we sure can pass them on to the next. Marble –On!!
  10. There are plenty of charity resale shops around and I hope to make some collectors day in the future when he/she buys a jar of killer marbles, just one of many jars that will continue to be restocked again and again---and again. Maybe just one marble will be requested to be put in my urn along with my ashes🙂. Marble—On!!
  11. I am going with MK on the first one and Champion on the swirl. More opinions are always needed and welcomed. Nice marbles and great images. Marble--On!!!
  12. Nice, deep, well covered marbles Gladys. Great images once again and very cool marbles. I would say Vitro too, some beauties. Marble—On!!
  13. Cool stuff Mojo, The “Africa” nets looks like it holds Hurricanes—very nice indeed. The Gorilla net has “Twisters”, very cool. “Papagayo” nets hold “Wavebreakers”, I love em. Thanks for sharing these. Marble-On!!
  14. To really check if they were polished or not we will have to see both pontils---close up. Marble on my friend!!
  15. Welcome to the new world bonnie. I agree it is hard to keep up with. I was out of it for a few years and had to really jump back into it to make it worth my while. Everything regarding marbles is a new experience to be appreciated. I jumped back in and so can you. Live and learn research and research on. This marble collecting stuff blows by the past and reveals the present. Who knows what the future may hold. Try to keep up with the current knowledge as it is displayed and shared here at the Marble Connection, the best place to be if you really want to know about what is really going on with collecting marbles. I feel your pain and I have been there. I am happy to say that this board has renewed any interest that I had in the past. It took some work but it was all painless. Marble on my marble collecting friend!!
  16. This is a very nice find. Original inserts and what looks to be original Prizenames. Yes, the red and cream colored ones are Prizenames. The original rules are a very, very hard find indeed. The Pouch is original as well. The box closure/clasp is not broken, a common thing is a broken clasp. Missing 5-- 9/16” marbles imho---usually Flinties but others were involved—The “Indian Blanket” marbles are a bonus and are the most valuable. This is just a great box of this size and well worth the effort. If you are turned off by the discoloration—I have a few tips to bring this back to life. The inserts are out of position, the pouch should be on the left, the four shooters in the middle, then the 25 marbles in the insert and on the right hand 5- 9/16” marbles imho of course. You can see the marble marks on the bottom of the box in the image with the hand. This is a great 150 box find and I will not be bidding. I build em, I do not buy them full like this. ( I am not the seller and do not know the seller and as far as I know I have never purchased from this seller) Sorry potential bidders, this one is out there now. Marble—On!!
  17. Lets see some potential marbles to be named---any type or make will do, they should be kinda findable imho. Marble Connection more than deserves a marble to be named here🌎. This could be a great thread. Lets pick the judges and get on with it, five should do. I nominate Steph---second? Show your "liver and onions" looking marbles here. Lets do this--- Marble--On!!
  18. This is a good example of collectors determining what is and what is not. Parrot collectors mainly look for full coverage with little or no white and the prices paid reflect that. All pricing aside, Leigh’s two posts had two marbles that were intended or manufactured as “Parrots”, both are very nice and there is no reason at all not to collect them as Parrots. A bunch of these together would be a beautiful sight to see. Some folks are fussy, some, like me are not but sometimes I am guilty of going with the flow---sometimes😁. Marble—On!!
  19. First of all, “Liver and Onions” sounds like a good name for an Alley Agate marble for some reason Second of all, it has been a while since I had liver and onions and I am getting a massive hankering for some. Back in the day we would have deep fried chicken livers on card night. It is hard to find any decent chicken livers anymore though. Venison liver, pork liver, beef liver, I was raised eating them all---Yum! Liver –On!!
  20. That one has great coverage for a biggie like that. Marble--On!!
  21. The one on the left is a hand-gathered machine made slag—“Transitional”. Over 100 years old perhaps. I do not know if they made these in the 1920's yet. It is hard to ID a maker with this one. MFC would be a good guess. Marble—On!!
  22. All three are nice marbles with another one pushing towards being a "Parrot". Poor mans "Parrot" maybe😁. I like it! Marble--On!!
