  1. Hello Mojo, I think that "Hybrid" would be a stretch. I think that it may be a "Popeye" though. Popeyes had a much more vibrant yellow than a "moss agate"imho. I posted a few moss agates below for you to compare with, they are all 5/8". Moss agates of this type (non patch) were a wild thing, often showing as a swirl more than a corkscrew. The image of three combined shows a moss agate with clear transparent and some interior whispiness involved. It obviously has a moss base to it though. Marble--On!!
  2. Cool Beans Fire, It does pay to step aside sometimes. Nice marble!! Marble--On!!
  3. I would love to see more images of this one. Marble--On!!
  4. This might help it to sink into the grey matter. Thanks Ron😁
  5. Hello Ric, The "Lady" is just a hair over 9/16" with no UV reaction. Marble--On!!
  6. Fire, Bluntness with you pays off. This is a great example of Vacor vs Peltier---nice images. I will bow out and leave it to the more informed. It is not a WVS in my opinion. Great marble!! If you do not get many responses--post it in the ID section--it is worth it imho. Marble--On!!
  7. Akro marketed "Opals", opaque marbles in different colors. They may have reached 1". I do not recall if there was a black one in the production line. Marble-On!
  8. Hello Fire, I know that you like the blunt approach so here goes. I think that you have a nice Vacor there. I like it and many will. Show some more of it. Marble--On!!
  9. This is just too cool, I have to share it with you all. When I purchased it I thought that it might be a fake---not! The fading and discoloration will be discontinued while in my possession, I shelled out up for a nice anti UV/acid resistant display for this one. Marble—On!!
  10. That is the thing Gladys---this one has no Opal to it at all. Thanks, and Marble--On!!
  11. I remember when the big four included American Motors-lol. I did have a few Ramblers--fold down seats rocked! Doors opening on a turn did not. Rambler On!!
  12. I always thought that Kyro was the way to say it---too much Star Wars for me?? Never enough--. Marble--On!!
  13. There is no need to beat this one to death. Opaque will define it if no light shines through it. Cleary will define it if it is transparent regardless of the color (both collector terms). Most game marbles were smaller than ¾” with the exception of some Vitro that were ¾”. There are some that may appear to be opaque such as Akro Flinties and they are a bit more collectable—they did not come in black. Many companies made opaque and clear based marbles with a variety of names and sizes applied. As I recall, these were valued in the game years back probably because of the ease in sorting them out in the circle in the sunlight. They are a very hard thing to ID company to company as far as collectability will go, millions were made. I sort them none-the-less, and backlight them all as well---always looking for an antique “German” handmade with the pontils that may have been hidden to the naked eye. Marble—On!!
  14. Size matters my friend. My first thoughts on this one was a very nice Vacor. The streaming nature of the clear glass may point elsewere. I might call that oxblood as well. Nice marble! Marble--On!!
  15. Ok, Here are two more, The first one just seemed “special”. It may be a special Jabo imho but I am not that sure, I have had this one around for awhile. I sorted it and bagged it, who knows when? The second set is three different “Corals” on a green base---just eye candy for you all and me—I love this type regardless of the maker. Another great recent great find from eBay for the bottom feeder in me. I love this stuff!! Marble—On!!
  16. Here are two, Thanks to you all for sharing the info that has and will continue to share and educate all of us in this great hobby. These two are a “Shimmering Spruce” which I got lucky with in a recent eBay purchase and a “Clear Lady” that I have had for some time. As far as I can figure, “Clear Lady”---no opal—“Opal Lady”—just as it sounds---Thanks Ron and all of you, for all that you share. Of course, correct me if I am wrong. Marble—On!!
  17. Hello Akro75, They look like MFC to me. The way that the tail almost tucks under in the more minty one is very cool. The depth of color in the other one had me thinking"nice big one" at first. very nice 5/8" marbles to be sure, both of them. Marble--On!!
  18. Here is a link to a thread that has some names of Contemporary Artists listed. You can see why it might be a hard thing to put an actual ID on one of these. There may be more lists such as the ones shown with the actual way that the Artist signed the piece. https://marbleconnection.com/topic/20926-contemporary-marble-artists Marble--On!!
  19. A most hardy welcome thephunkfreaker. Post what you like and do not be afraid. The folks here have seen it all---well almost all. There is no judgment to be made—just opinions. I love this stuff! Marble—On!!
  20. I am in the waiting for the new Vacor book from Andy Mclaughlin in Alaska. Any news there?
