  1. When I retired, we had a huge rummage sale. We had several families included. One family had many Native American items that were collected by a since dead relative and these attracted one very informed collector who purchased many items and gave us more than expected, not just in cash but in information---a great collector he was. I thought that this was a Native American bow drill cap. He backed off claiming that it was just a freak of nature. I still wonder given all of the knowledge that he provided that day. This is what drives many collectors—the wonder, and in many cases, not the value but the origin. I still wonder. You will always be questioned regardless of your experience---This is the way! Collect on and wonder on as well!!!
  2. These two images are what convince me of it being a Peltier marble, an older one. This fold/seam/elongated stream thing is a not so common thing with Pelts—I do not see it in Vitros. Marble—On!!
  3. There were a few other marble makers in Mexico besides Vacor and I am wondering if this bunch may be from one of them. They are cats and quite a variety of colors. No UPC or warnings/choking hazards and nothing on the back of the Header/Tag. I purchased it because I never saw it before, the wording, ALRO. Thanks for any and all opinions . Marble—On!!

  6. You will get it--sooner than later. I love this color combo--this one always catches my eye. Marble--On!!
  7. Nice marble--No ID from me--WVS😁. Marble--On!!
  8. I do not think Jabo Mojo, Pinkish base glass rings a bell--I just cannot answer it today. WVS is my opinion😁. Marble--On!!!
  9. Research some of what Vacor has made as far as Cateye marbles. You may have one here. Marble--On!!
  10. I sort by manufacturer, damage, type, size ,marbles that were dug, country of origin, who they came from and of course—top shelf, which is a mix. If I had more room to display I may have sorted in a different manner, I just deal with what I have and am happy for it. (less dusting for sure) Damage on machine-mades used to be a no-no. I am seeing more and more listings on ebay that describe damage with lots that are going for a good price. A sign of the times. When I sort for size I use a Westcott T-800 template, this is as close as I can get to what the original company used to size the marbles that they made. I sort sizes to backfill incomplete or empty boxes and do not split hairs on size. Sort the way that suites your collecting mind, some collectors sort the same, many are different. I have a backlog of cat-eyes to sort, I am not that bored yet—soon though. Marble—On!!
  11. I love what you share with us all Gladys. Odd is always fun for the majority that hang out here. This marble shows cutoff marks on the blue/white that look like Akro and cutoff marks on the base that look more like Master---strange but true. The blue/white coloration almost seems like an afterthought. This one was fun, an Akro/Master combo. Keep them coming!! Marble—On!!
  12. No chips here, Just two melted pontils imho. The reflections in the images are obvious. Great marble!! Marble--On!!

This one is a Pelt imho. Marble--On!!
  14. Cutlines are one part of an ID that are very important but they are not always the truth. The colors here tell me that it is a Master Made Marble. I just call them like I see them. Marble--On!!
  15. Here is a nice one at 2 ¼” it has a big chip out of it and it does reveal some nice action. Marble—On!!
  16. I am glad to say that Gladys started this weeks MK Monday post---I was waiting for someone. Great examples Gladys!! We may get sick of sorting MK marbles but they really do deserve a place in the history and collections of many. I like them to a point----American made---that is enough for me. Marble—On!!
  17. Thanks Gladys, Great images--- I still think that this may be a Master Made Marble. It could be one that was missed by the Quality Control during a change in the desired end product. The furnaces did not quit, they just kept on going until they could no longer hold together. The blue and white were not intended to be part of this marble, or visa versa, this is the way that it went and finished as you see it. This is my best opinion and I hope that more are coming. Marble—On!!
  18. Show some more images and lets make this a longer post Gladys. It is worth it imho. Marble--On!!
  19. This is a weird one as far as I am concerned—good job once again Gladys. I would not call it a MK. I do not think that it is a Vitro. It looks more like a Master than an Akro to me. Some shots of the cutoffs straight on where the base glass appears cutoff may help any others to give their ideas, which are needed and respected as always. Marble—On!!
  20. Just based on the colors I would say that this one is Westite. The Westite plant had a fire that ended production and Akro purchased many of the molds. I cannot recall if Akro reproduced this one or not. Nice find!
  21. This one was not made the way that it was intended to be made imho. It could be one of many different makers. Marble--On!!
  22. I think that they are both Pelt😁. More opinions are needed-lol Marble--On!!

Hi Ron, I have the same problem and I discovered yesterday that if you click on the really big ones they get smaller instead of bigger. Who knew? Marble--On, and save those eyes!!
