I agree but I do not recognize this one. Nice group Mojo! As always nice images as well. Marble--On!!

I would call it a clear based NLR. More opinions are needed here and I respect them all. Marble--On!!

The 100 count boxes often had two rows of each color combo--sometimes there were "special ones" that had a single row each. I wish that I could nail this box down for you--name wise. Akro had many names for these 100 count boxes and they changed a bit from each other. Sometimes patches were mixed with Corkscrews. To name a box from one color or even two would be out of line for me at least. Check out Stephs "Study Hall" you may find what you are looking for there. Nice marbles non the less! Marble--On!!

Gregg Pessman marbles and an introduction
akroorka replied to Micki's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Welcome Micki to "TheMarbleConnection". Show us what you have so far--it would be appreciated. I am sure that you will find what you desire at a show as Alan says. The Block auctions do sell a few here and there. Here is the link. https://www.marbleauctions.com/ I would not doubt that the auction center would alert you to any being sold in the future. Actually, I do not think that this one is an Akro. Lets call in @Nantucketdink for an opinion here. I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. Nice marble and nice images. Marble--On!!

I am sure that greed has nothing to do with it at all. Producing a book is not an easy venture and I am sure that plenty of grey hairs were inherited through this venture. I am sure that the folks that produced this book wished for a higher number of the original books to be sold to individuals.(rip Geno Biffany) This book is now a classic and just like Super Bowl tickets, more were purchased to be sold than originally Intended by the authors. This of course was not the intention of the authors and they gain nothing from it other than stardom from us crazy marble collectors. The Green Bay Packers just recently announced that some season ticket holders that sold instead of attending would be dismissed and the long(very long) line that wanted season tickets would be moved up. This is the way of the world--sad to say. I would never blame the authors for this craziness. Marble--On!! -

I just love a good Swarovski piece of crystal—all crystal for that matter. These little hangers from your lamps are pretty cool. Hang them in a south facing window and be rewarded. Here are a few examples of what I have hanging. I just love this stuff. It reminds me of Grandmas house with the crystal set windows that she had with all of the colors shining all over the living room.

A new name for this marble Fire--"Slapshot". I like it!---I dare you. Marble--On!!

Yes, this book has skyrocketed out of it's mind pricewise. I am on my third one--I purchased two originals for trades and the third one---- I just recently purchased on an auction here to build up the money pool for the MarbleConnection board--(Thanks Steph!) I am sorry that you missed out. They may be cheaper at a show-keep an eye out for sure. Marble--On!! -
The "Popeye" Bring your elbows in close to your ribs and relax--then take a shot. Natural sunlight on a neutral background is best. These images are still too out of focus to make a great call. It is a Popeye and it appears to be a very nice one but condition is everything and your images are hard to determine that fine point. Keep on trying—you will get it—I am sure. Marble—On!!

Akro--I agree. These came in rows of ten in many of the 100 count boxes that Akro sold. Marble--On!!

This would be a top notch Vacor but the damage does not line up with what I would expect. The colors are awfully bright for any Master that I know but the damage lines up right. It could be a very pretty Asian Made as well. I will say Akro here, the cutlines are close to being right on. I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. Nice marble—a Patch—almost a cork. It must be an Alley Agate. Nice find! Nice Images! I suck @wvs ID and appreciate any and all opinions. Marble--On!!

First off--it looks like a Heaton to me. I appreciate all opinions here. Most importantly--the rust. I Like to call these “Coffee Can Marbles”. The discoloration is in fact rust residue. It could be from the bottom of a fish tank(which more than likely would include some other polution or stain) but more than likely this one was stored in a can somewhere that collected a bit of moisture—it was near the bottom of the can. You can leave it as it is or try to bring it back—both are cool imho. I use this type of product—always use it wet and a tiny bit at a time. Look for the finest grit that you can find. One of these little cups is all that you need for hundreds of rust-stained marbles. It is used on my shiny teeth at the Dentist office—why not a marble? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Z7J0SL0?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1 Good luck and Marble—On!!

These are always better in hand---I am thinking PPP or Pelt Peerless Patch here. Image #1 and #5 show an elongated "tongue" that I usualy associate with a Peltier made marble but not generally in a Peerless Patch. These "tongues"(kinda like a lizards tongue) show up in a variety of marbles including CAC--Peltier has the most imho. The colors are right, the depth of color is right. I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. Marble--On!!

Just be carefull with what type of paint that you use. Under lights they may stick to the glass--bummer for sure. I used to use old "throw away" stryrofoam blood tube holders (back in the day when I sold) to ship marbles. It might have been a drag to get them out-- I had to press them in, but they arrived undamaged. They also make great marble holders (if they make them anymore). Good luck on your venture, just remember--dust is a concern in any display. Marble--On!!

A chair leg coaster for a holder? That is a big one!! I was never a spoiled brat--but at 8-10 years old--I could see me doing the same thing😇. Marble--On!!

Odd yes, but understand that these machines were kept running until they broke down--time for a new design/color--lets go. Usually the in-betweens were picked out and disgarded--the "pickers outers" were only human. Marble--On!!
