  1. I agree with Melissa here--the "master" looks more English than WV for sure. The "angry bird" is no doubt a name that you made up considering such (it does ring some Vitro bells for me at least). You should post that it is your name for this one. Marble--On!!
  2. Oooops!!!! I have to read more and judge less--Thanks Shamrock!! Good stuff for sure. Marble-On!!
  3. It is a Pelt imho--pretty weird. The money is up to the bidders--keep us posted Fire. Marble-On!!
  4. I will echo that statement for sure. Discussion is a great thing--lets keep it going here. Nice new images for sure. I think that it may be a Pelt--------------the op brown/white one----Woodie??? Marble--On!!
  5. The one that you show here is a Vitro "Conqueror" a nice marble but really quite common. Marble--On!!
  6. Not much I am afraid Catseyes are collectable-just not high dollar. Check out "Stephs study hall" to get a better Idea of what to post. https://marbleconnection.com/forum/20-stephs-study-hall/ Marble--On!!
  7. The black and white one I have not seen before--it reminds me of a "carpet ball". Oops, I take that back, there is one in "Everett Grist's Big Book of Marbles" He called them "Painted Chinas". The left and the right hand ones are called "Lined Chinas" or---"Painted Chinas" as is the flowery looking one. These were all hand painted--probably from Germany. Yes, the more fancy the more valuable—rarity is always a thing though—the black and white seems rare to me. You need some more opinions for sure. @bumblebee may have some insight here. Marble--On!!
  8. I am with Melissa here. Nice marbles for sure in the OP--no MK imho. Marble--On!!
  9. Wicked is right on Fire--very cooooool! I noticed this one while looking at your post--- The "Superman" on the left under similar items. https://www.ebay.com/itm/135402363473?itmmeta=01JDZEP6Y84JQFVE5BP85R7NQ3&hash=item1f869c1a51:g:XEsAAOSwEK1nRbyv Is this one maybe a Scott Patrick?? Marble--On!!
  10. oh yes--these have fooled me before--nice marbles! These below blew me away. Marble--On!!
  11. It is a nice looker--but common in my opinion. Not a Jabo production run--earlier. Given your measurement I would call it 9/16". WVS of some make or model imho. Marble--On!!
  12. This is more than likely a Vitro "Tri-lite" or a "Tiger Eye". Vitro made some very fine marbles and they should never be underestimated imho. I appreciate all opinions and hope to see some more. Marble--On!!
  13. The best helmets have the ears covered with the stripe down the middle or top of the helmet. I would consider all three "almost or close to Helmets" with the yellow based one as the best given the images. The one one the bottom left-who knows? Marble--On!! Here are some classic helmets in and on a vitro "Jewel Tray".
  14. Caramels?---killer marbles Melissa. Image #3-- are you sure? What is it called? (I am thinking Pelt here) Marble--On!!
  15. Happy weekend to all. What a rush--Thanksgiving. I made another "Spatchcocked Turkey" along with the fixins--then fell asleep--I should eat more Turkey--I slept quite well last night. Marble--On!!
  16. What age Melissa? Back in the 70's 80's these were some of the first marbles that I ever purchased ( I thought that they were "Guineas"). They were in the back shed (very dusty and old) of a farm sale. Regardless, this one is a good example--very nice indeed. Marble--On!!
  17. Weird it is-- Marble--On!!
  18. This is the thing--it is a vey dark marble and if was meant to be sold as a colorfull swirl--to catch the eye so to speak--it would have not been so dark. My favorite saying is-"Backlight them all" and I love that you did this. This may have been an "experimental" color combo that was found in the "Digs" from any amount of Digs. It may have been used as a game marble after the color combo failed--the size is right. Regardless--you have a nice find that many would not have not found without the proper research. Light it up and display It. Marble--On!!
  19. I agree wtih Melissa--these look like game marbles to me such as would have come with a "Chinese Checkers" game. Unless you really know your Akro these are hard to ID--game marbles. It always involves backlighting them--that being said--you may have a few "Akro Flinties" invloved. These were included by hapinstance in the game filled boxes These are a hard call but if you back-light them they will show a fish-eye effect, this is hard to descibe but they actually look less solid colored than in hand and there will be this mesmerizing effect when back-lit---like a fish eye. Yes. I know the fish eye has been described as the little slits on either cutoff mark but many Akro Marbles will show these. The Akro Flinties also show an opalescent glow to them went back lit--the reds browns are a hard tell though. Hope this helps-- Marble--On!!
  20. Welcome alicats99 to "TheMarbleConnection". We are all sad to hear of your hubby passing but what you say about him resonates with many here . What has been said above is all true—just a few at a time. If you can pick out any with over two colors involved you may have a great start to deciphering what you have there. Maybe, just maybe, we can convince you into collecting these cute little orbs. They take up little room and are easy to dust if you display them right. We all will advise you in a respectfull fashion. Bring them on!! Marble—On!!
  21. Nice group for sure--these caged cats are some of the best ever made imho. Marble--On!!
  22. Wow!--- Two very similar marbles. Alans shows oxblood imho--A very nice Akro Patch imho-- Fires is just different in the same way but lacking any Ox. I do not know Kokomo's very well but a few here have agreed with that so I am on board. This is a nice post--lets keep it going that way😇. Marble--On!!
  23. This is a Vitro Conqueror with armor involved. I just love this stuff— Marble—On!!
  24. Welcome David to "TheMarbleConnection". Just a killer way to introduce yourself with this fine example. Show us all some more for sure. Marble--On!!
