  1. Wow! I have not seen one like it (with any figure) - outside of the one you pointed out in the book. You find the unique ones!
  2. That just confirms that we all might have a different viewpoint in looking at the same thing!
  3. Congratulations to you, your daughter and family!
  4. Thanks for sharing - maybe one of the translator programs will help. Is there a way to get text "copied" from a JPEG?
  5. It'll be great to meet some new "faces" from the Boards and renew some old friendships!
  6. Goodf article - wasn't on my list - now it is.
  7. Thanks, Bob - good pics. Hope to see you in a few weeks.
  8. Sorry to hear all that - hope they are able to stabilize things and get him healthy.
  9. Great Spring colors! (And we had one of the latest measurable snowfalls on record in the valley here in Oregon - not our thing for Spring...)
  10. http://www.anywho.com/whitepages This is a link to white pages. You can put in his name and city and state and search and a phone number pops up. See if it matches the one you have.
  11. A friend sent this today and with Alan's passing, it seemed to hit home even more. An Irish Blessing - "This Blessing Is For You" by Roma Downey. http://www.andiesisle.com/ThisBlessingIsForYou.html
  12. My prayers go out to you, Cheryl, and all of Alan's family and friends! A sad day!
  13. Looks like seven years later, I'm coming back to the WVMCC Show. I'll be arriving Thursday afternoon. Apr. 12th. Loooking forward to seeing all of you there!
  14. I have seen pics of this box before and marbles are usually similar to the ones you show. My first thought was Alox, second is Champion for those marbles. I have not seen your game before, John. But none of the box pictures that I have show any opaque marbles - all these transparent swirl types.
  15. I thought I had one of those but can't find picture. I know I've seen it before. I sorta think it was one of those games they had in restaurants to keep kids occupied.
  16. It's nice to end a cold streak! Great variety - too bad about the damage.
  17. Finally remembered to look to see if I had any picture saved of box like that. Here's a couple pics of one from 2007 that someone posted (no idea who) but they ID'd it as Cairo box at the time.
  18. Stacy - yes, if there is that yellow ribbon on the marble. It is hard to see the thin yellow ribbon in all the marbles on that row in Edna's pics but they have to have that.
  19. By the way, with Vitro packaging, the workers sometimes put other marbles than the ones named on the label in the packaging. That has creeated some confusion also.
  20. I agree with Mark. Here are a couple of pictures of Yellowjackets (one by Patry and one by duffy). There has been some discussion of other Vitros with yellow in them being Yellowjackets and with the variety of Vitro odd patterns, some might be. It is kind of like All Reds advertised by Vitro as marbles having red in them. Or Blackies having black in them. There are lots of Vitro marbles with yellow that are not yellowjackets.
  21. I would not discount these being Jabos from the 1990's time frame. They did a lot of marbles that look similar to this pattern. Here's a picture of one of the Vitro - Division of Jabo bags that I have with marbles of similar color. They did a variety of swirls - the majority of which had more clear or transparency in them - but there were a lot of opaques.
  22. I'd go with 9:00 o'clock - Alley; 7:00 o'clock - Ravenswood and 5:00 o'clock - Champion. Just my thoughts.
  23. If you had not mentioned older, I'd be thinking Jabo. How about an "older" (early 90's) Vacor?
  24. That last group has Vacor wirtten all over it. Sure, Vacor probably sells in Puerto Ricoso that part may be true. But how they got them in that shape had to take some mechanical/chemical work.
