  1. yes they are, and IMO some should be responsible to not make it even more confusing. Actually Gnomekicker(really wish I had a name) I believe it is very easy (if they cared enough) for the new makers to not make color combos that will confuse folks.
  2. I based my opinion on the original description (type) of CAC called a Red Devil which was a red translucent base with yellow patch like swirling on the surface. Many other red and yellow CACs have been called red devils as of late. This one just does not look CAC to me.
  3. Interesting mib but it looks more like a later Rainbo to me(less Opaque and more transparent-translucent colors). here are some large NLRs
  4. I have never said they are intentionally making "mimics". I am saying they are not trying, not to, as much as I believe they should. And I have had personal conversations with Dave about making flame types etc. Yes they do attempt that which is fine if using unfamiliar colors or multitude of colors. I am saying they can use colors, glass types and combinations of colors that do not resemble old Vintage marbles. And as long as they are selling the ones that do resemble old marbles , they are, as you put it, crapping on vintage marble collectors and future marble collectors IN MY OPINION. And I have always stated it is OK to not agree with any of my opinions.
  5. Wrong glass and wrong construction for a Red Devil IMO.
  6. But none of those companies were making marbles that they knew may be mimicking older vintage marbles that people collected. And these new companies have the option of not doing that. Too bad some of the new makers just don't care. What a shame they care so little for vintage collectors and future collectors. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE MARBLES THAT LOOK VINTAGE, AND IF THEY DO TRY NOT TO, AND SOME ARE PRODUCED, THEY CAN BE DESTROYED.
  7. I have only seen 2 Winnie. One was yellow and I believe the other was a blue.
  8. Looks like a hard to find "Japanese Transitional Type" Very nice marble!

    Bird Of Prey

I once spent over an hour watching 2 families (3 Adults and 4 young) of Golden Eagles slaughter a field full of jackrabbits that had been driven there by the clearing of several near by fields for new construction. Most were killed and left where they lay. The Adults were teaching the young several ways of hunting the rabbits. It was incredible with the eagles sometimes less than 20 feet away.
  10. No, but someone may want to give them a lesson on condition descriptions
  11. I will change my vote to a forkscrew. Don't ask(LOL)
  12. Getting together with folks I do not get to see too often. Absolutely the best part of a show. I always get a table to help support whatever club is putting on the show. I also have found some great deals at the show itself as some do not do in room trading. selling some good marbles so that I may purchase better is always nice. least favorite is not enough marbles that I collect
  13. I wonder how many folks that post here would have the involvement that they do with marbles if the were not making money from the hobby. I know I would. I do sell marbles at shows and to friends for more marble money but I must certainly agree marbles should never be looked at as any kind of monetary investment.
  14. #6 were 1". I would say these are extremely HTF. Not mine
  15. Scott, you just gotta go to the right flea markets. Just got all 5 of these bad boys for 80 bucks.
  16. I think I prefer the one smaller light in the center.
  17. Yes there was respect. It seems to have disappeared. Just trying to get what I hoped would be a good discussion going. Can you respect that.
  18. Peddle cars were extremely collectible and had a wonderful resale value until cheap reproductions flooded the market. Values plummeted and collectors disappeared. The same happened to Cookie jars, Farm bells, and many other items. Shows have disappeared as well as collectors. I noticed marble show attendance slimming down and the value of many vintage machine made marbles plummeting about the same time the new run marbles started being made at Jabo. Is there any correlation at all? Heck, they have even attempted to make corkscrews.
  19. Yellow swirling does sounds like a jorkscrew
  20. William, Can you post a marble pic? I would like to see what is possible. Winnie, the first pic of 4 is without the flash, I do not like the large light spots.
  21. works much better for me with the flash. One with out 3 with. I may need to lower the lights a bit to brighten up the bottom area of the marble.
  22. no flap. that pic was with the flash and marble just laying on the background. Will be messin with it today for a little while. I will post results.
