  1. Stay tuned. In the near future there should be more pictures than you can posibly imagine available to the public. Wish I could say more!
  2. You have obviously only retained what you wanted ton from my postings. Sorry Rich there is no Art to polishing a marble. There is some art to what you do when you do your torch repairs. And you do do it very very well. It is just some of the terminology that gets to me. And the sleazy scumbags that pass off worked on marbles as original surfaces. And the polishers that do not care where or what happens to the marbles they polish. Your torched marbles do not bother me in the least as they are very easy to tell from original. And Rich you are making a huge assumption that I do anything just because of $$$$ And I find that a bit insulting. I collect marbles for their beauty. I find vintage mint original marbles much more beautiful than polished or torched marbles. I have a large amount of Art glass marbles, purchased for their beauty. I do not by the marbles I plan on keeping as an investment. I think that would be foolish.
  3. Fresh from Canada, I am guessing some kind of hi-grade Vacors.
  4. Rich, you need to be a little less defensive and read a little closer. I understand polishing or torching a beat to crap marble. I do not understand using the term conserving. And it is also not restoration as they are not put back to an original state.
  5. At a flea market in Berkeley this weekend they had glass trade marble bead necklaces (solid colors transparent and translucent and milliflora beads like the marbles. The dealer had nothing but trade type beads. (. They and their reproductions now take up several different dealers stall at several flea markets in my area of the country
  6. I think Randy collects mint or very close to it, marbles . And I do have to ask how is polishing, conserving something that would not get in any worse condition if just left alone?
  7. Some nice mibs! Looks like someone torched the heck out of that one CAC IMO
  8. Or if any of it is even true??? Bamboo burns at a little over 450F molten glass is probably over 2000F. Don't think a little stick of bamboo would do so well as a mandrel to roll glass on??

    Hi

Steph, ran into these the other day
  10. Hey, someone got a killer deal on a pennant mounted marble!!!!!
  11. most have decided not to use those type names
  12. Transparent swirls, with one thin stream often 2 colored stream type from Europe called wire pulls
  13. yes they are, especially mint and over 5/8"
  14. I would consider those to be not as old as the Usual marbles called Blue Galaxies
  15. Looks like Japanese marbles in those puzzle boxes to me.
  16. I would say those one day one time run statements are complete and total speculation at this point in time. . I wonder how long a run actually lasted. Being multiple stream marbles if you kept putting the same mix in each furnace area a "run" could potentially last for days or weeks.
  17. Since I just got them these are my favorites for now
