There are many many varieties of vintage paperweights with sulphides in them. Many have banding on the weight sometimes surrounding the figure. No reason to believe the same processes could not be used for a larger sized marble. Probably made by starting with a small sized glob with the figure in it then building up layers over the glass covered figure. Not that big a deal. It is done often at the local art glass company.

Here is a Guinea remelt. Look for squiggly edges on color bands. Duller colors than expected Patterns that don't look quite right. (reversing etc.)tiny tiny bubbles often form in groups or all over just under the surface

That one looks Champion to me. This type looks more like CAC IMO

I do not know if I would consider those 2 CACs. CAC did make many white base single color marbles but those do not look like colors I am familiar with. As so many companies made white base single color swirls it can be difficult to put a company to many. I don't know most well enough to try.

Sorry. I do not believe they are CACs Not a Turkey and that does not look like the 9 one finds on handgathered marbles IMO.

Just spewing some thoughts. I like the ones with the sparkly new cullet much better. And there are hundreds of marble makers that make marbles not looking in the least like vintage marbles. And hundred of thousands of folks that don't know squat about marbles. It sure would be nice if every marble buyer and seller educated themselves enough to know what they are buying or selling. Its never going to happen and I refuse to throw all the blame on the uneducated buyer. Don't care who anyone else blames. And Rich when I saw how easily your CAC remelts fooled everyone I showed them to at the Seattle show I really started to not like any remelts that resembled the old stuff. I am glad Griff will never be fooled. Thats at least one I don't have to be concerned about.

Rich, I am starting to wish you would work on your own style and leave the Vintage and remelts alone. I say this because I see many of them causing future problems. Just giving my honest opinion and not speaking for anyone else. The marble did turn out nice

Check the Black very carefully with an extremely bright light. You may find it is an extremely deep transparent red

personally I would never sell a polished marble

Very sweet piece. And I am really beginning to wonder why so many CAC marbles split in almost perfect halves?????? When I was at Jabo the ones that did not stay whole just kind of blew up into various sized pieces. And the groups of dug stuff I have from Akro do not seem to contain a lot of halves.

I would need several views before I have an opinion.

It is hard to diminish a marbles value if it really has none to start with, And most marbles with a badly damaged surface have no real value. One should never polish a marble that has any real value before polishing IMO. It can drastically reduce the value.
