  1. I too believe the broken corkscrews are accidental. Interesting, but accidental. I like their reversing corks better than the broken corks. Accidental also, I believe.
  2. Look like they came from a board. At 36 a marble lets hope they were mint
  3. Afraid I have caused the blood pressure to increase in more than a few collectors at shows. Most are a bit shocked when you point out the polished and torch made marbles. I try to do it nicely but when they ask I tell. I found 3 torch made CACs in one keeper box. He only asked about 1 so that is the only one I showed how to tell it was torchmade. They get more obvious the more you buy to learn what they look like. Folks that never buy the fakes or polished marbles will have a much harder time knowing when they have one in their hand.
  4. I have met some folks that know quite a bit about certain areas of the hobby. Met some with a good general knowledge. Met a few that can ID many marbles. Haven't met an expert yet and doubt I ever will. An expert should know about all and every aspect of the hobby. How who when where what etc.
  5. Breakfast in bed(LOL) Hope you have a wonderful day!
  6. TOO Funny. totally missed it DOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!
  7. maybe that is what formed Alley Oxblood?? o
  8. Predators exist in many forms. And they often have an easy time locating prey. Am I the only one that wants to puke when they hear the old They never did anything to me statement. Ranting is kind of fun.
  9. neither do the ones I have with out the yellow.
  10. I like the part about (lots of handwork)could these be transitionals??????
  11. And just to reiterate my original post was simply a response to all the folks that said how ridiculous(thats putting it nicely) I was for insinuating that many of the New Jabos resemble old marbles and will be fooling future collectors. That has nothing at all to do with what Vintage marbles resemble other Vintage marbles. And theoriginal thread was about VITRO marbles not Jabos to begin with. Thats all, I am done, I shouldn't have been sucked in this far.
  12. Ron and I do have different opinions about some marbles as to whether they CAC or Alley. I never say I am 100% sure because I have not seen every marble made and in original packaging. Just have my opinion. Like many collectors of certain types we begin to see similarities between marbles we collect. Ron is an Alley collector so he sees a lot of resemblance between certain marbles and Alley. I, being a CAC collector see the similarities with known CACs. He haS even bought marbles from me that he believes were Alley and I believed were CAC. No big deaL.
  13. If I am one of those GUYS I must correct you and say I did not react in any way, Just stated some facts. And many dozens if not hundreds of posts have been made in a positive way about the new jabos with out any negative comments. It seems calling to question any thing that may be a negative about them creates quite a bigger stir than making positive posts. Why nothing negative can be said without reactions seems very strange to me until I again realize that most of the reactive type comments come from folks that have invested in the New Runs.
  14. I would argue that number 2 and 3 are both CAC. The globules under the surface of the red and white are a classic CAC trait.. The crystal clear red is also A CAC glass IMO. The orang color And the flame pattern of #2 is identical to many CACs not Ally's. #4 looks classic Alley to me. And I never said who why how or anything else about the New Jabo production. Simply stated that they already are and will be a big confusion for many(especially future) collectors. Why all the defensive type posts I do not understand. I was not trying to belittle you in any way. If you took any of my posts as an attack on you in any way I apologize.
  15. You shouldn't be embarrassed. I was simply bringing up the point because so many folks hammered the heck out of me for insinuating that many these new run marbles resemble vintage marbles and will be a big problem to future collectors. You simply helped prove my point by posting several of them that you bought thinking they were vintage..And if Grocki actually thought they were old that was another seasoned collector fooled. 2 bucks does mean a lot to some folks.
