  1. There actually seems to be two(maybe 3) types of of multi-colored swirls. The true ones(to me) which are the reversing cork ying yand like the individuals I show but with more colors. and twisted up NLRs and twisted up Rainbos or tweeners. These usually show remnents of one or two seams while the True ones have no seams at all. Just what I think I see(LOL). I have gotton nice MCSs in groups of multi-colored rainbos and it was too obvious they were from the same run. Just twisted uo. Heck it probably is the case with the true ones also (just twisted accidentally) but they sure are sweet. I trade mine to add to this group of a friend. Peace,Galen
  2. Looks like he had a pretty good eye and must have been a good shot too. Peace,Galen
  3. That is a beauty. My best was a little boy with a knapsack on a stick over his shoulder. Peace,Galen
  4. My 4. Peace,Galen Atmoshere inards.
  5. Here is the rest of the page. 1933 is the year. Notice how the drawings are not exact but just close renderings. And 15/16" rainbos in 1933. HUMMMMM!! Peace,Galen
  6. I have a few. They are not like Vintage bricks at all in hand. Peace,Galen
  7. Blink. But many do not have 9s Peace,Galen
  8. American slags(onyxs') had stopped being made when Akro started using the name for a corkscrew type. Peace,Galen
  9. I do see some Rainbos(IMHO) mixed in with all the above MCSs. It really is next to impossible to tell the difference in some. Here are some MCSs(and maybe 2 rainbos) and a big ol slag. Peace,Galen
  10. And in the dead of winter no less. very nice!!!! Peace,Galen
  11. Weren't some of those Imperials Dan? Peace,Galen
  12. It says Visit Masters House of Marbles on the bag. Must be from the Fair. Peace,Galen
  13. Chris if that was the case I believe there would be many many more CACs with cutlines almost touching. At one time I thought that also but when you see a single seam CAC half or look through a nice transparent Guinea(more of those are single than the others it seems) that kind of smooshing up just doesn't appear to have happened. There usually is a small looping of surface glass directly under the seam but it is not smooshed. Love that word. The loop is a little similar to what you can see inside some Navarre types. I keep leaning toward a handgather of some sort. Peace,Galen
  14. And actually a V shaped blade gives a nice straight cutoff line as the edges of the blade hit the rounded stream at apoint that becomes a straight line. Peace,Galen
  15. Single seam CACs still have me perplexed. The old first in stream theory just doesn't cut it for me as I feel they would be much rarer if that was the case. some kind of semi mechanical handgather? Wish I knew. Peace,Galen
  16. Sure would love to see some factual information on the different German machine mades, Times, companies, ect. So far 95% of our info has been guesses. If you can find some facts we need them. Like you, I believe a lot of the German machinemades were late 20s early 30s. Although with the great depression in Germany prewar I doubt they were making machinemades for long. And with the occupation of East germany after the war I can't imagine them making many marbles in Soviet run East Germany. heck 15 years ago East Germany was still full of bomb craters and damaged buidings from WWII. I do know many of the striped transparent type slags were dug at the glashutes that made handmades putting at least those types at an early date. With the great records the Germans kept on everything you would think we could get some factual information. Peace,Galen
  17. I also believe machinemades get more posting because who is going to ask What is this and who made it about a German Handmade. It might be about that simple. Most of the discussions on German Handmades have been done. So other than look at my pretty marble Posts there is not a lot to be brought up about the German Handmades that hasn't been wtitten or talked about. IMHO. Peace,Galen
  18. The Joker on a CAC. Peace,Galen
  19. A very Big loss indeed. I am very happy for the time I did get to spend with him. May he Rest in Peace. Peace,Galen
  20. I have thousands of vintage machinemade marbles in my collection. There is not one that I would consider a keeper with an orange peel texture. That is just what I like. I except the fact there are vintage marbles with orange peeled texture and some people like them and some hold them dear. That is fine. I do heartily disagree with a blanket statement that most vintage marbles have a degree of orangepeel to the naked Eye. That is simply not true. Again I say look at any pic of Alans auctioned marbles or any pic of BTs you will not find any Orange peel. And I am not talking about great magnification as there is no such thing as a perfectly smooth surface. And under magnification you will find more surface irregularity on Peltier marbles than the other manufacturers. That is it. Not trying to make fun of anyone or what they collect. I just don't like statements made as fact when they aren't. It is also fact that other than Vacor marbles I have seen many many more orange peeled marbles from dumpings than I have ever seen in packaging or none dug groups. As a percentage. And from the postings and emails I have no problem stating that most collecters consider orange peeling not as desireable as the same marble smooth. And most consider it a defect such as micro folds and bubblepops. A liked defect by some but still a defect IMHO. Peace,Galen thinks that may be his longest post ever(LOL)
  21. I have talked to the folks at Fenton. They never frosted or made marbles. Peace,Galen
  22. I put those pics in my For ID folder Dani. Thanks. Peace,Galen
  23. I would love seeing Akro literature showing a marble called an Ace. And I never heard ace types or ringers had to corkscrew. I have ringer types that came together that some swirl and some corkscrew. Just like some Ades. How does the construction determine an Ade when some swirl and some corkscrew. Now I am all cornfused. Peace,Galen can argue with anyone.
  24. Here we go again with the Name Game .. See what can happen(LOL) You folks are way into the Akros more than I am but I have always been under the belief that it must glow under UV light to be an ADE type. If it does not it is an ace. Such as the blue and yellows. I have read all the base type color descriptions and construction type and have found that just does not work. Too much variety in the base glass and some cork and some swirl. And if these are collecters(players)names everyone is correct. Peace,Galen
  25. My HUH was to wediscount. Read above post. It may have happened a little more often in the early days with Pelts but really is not proof of anything.(except a badly made marble) Peace,Galen
