  1. I hope everyone has a very fun Fourth!!!
  2. Now I have a good excuse to buy a Peltier, But I have even seen red aventurine in an red and yellow Akro corkscrew. I do not consider the type with a dark stripe of aventurine in the red band red aventurine. I have a killer reddish orange and yellow handgathered marble loaded with aventurine in the red. The aventurine does float to the surface in that clear glass and can drift almost over the whole marble, thats for sure.
  3. Thats almost enough reason for a ROAD TRIP!!!! I made it to Florida from here in 47 hours one time, should be a quicker trip.
  4. Fantastic cover for sure!! I am becoming a proud Crotchety Old Fart but I have discovered I actually really really enjoy a lot of Marshalls work. He definitely is an angry man and when I am inspecting a home that I have had problems with the Super or sub-contractors he is who I listen to. http://genius.com/Eminem-lose-yourself-lyrics
  5. Holly crustaceans Bat Man!!!!! I would pay to have one of those bad boys overnighted to the house.
  6. Isn't it just a Red Bee with out Aventurine and the sparkle of the Aventurine is what first garnered the name "Ruby". Thats how it was many years ago but I do know things change. I think some now use the transparent or Opaque Red as the break but that just doesn't do it for me. But then I am a hard headed old crotchety marble gatherer
  7. all the other Pelt colors were boxed at the same time as the Cerises were , The Cerises being more expensive they were the only type that was boxed separately. I have noticed that Arnold may have taught a slightly different gathering technique resulting in fewer 9s . they also probably made some slags that were not handgathered and not made with the feathered glass pattern. Also CAC made a number of 9 and tail slags as did Akro IMO. Look at their oxbloods, which would have been made in the same way. I also do have some marbles that the Pelt guys swear are Primas and they have nice 9s on them. And they paid a premium for the 9s I sold to them. Maybe there are also many early Pelt slags with 9s but they didn't get kept as Pelts??
  8. Come on now, I already started this topic!!!
  9. That is "the coffee maker got unplugged somehow" look
  10. A pontil will almost always rise above the surface level on the marble. Chips and dings will be below the plane of the surface

Pontils and rough cut offs on transitionals?
  12. If one has never been lucky enough to see some of the early city and temple sites it should be on the bucket list. And there are many fantastic early American Indian sites in the good ol USA
  13. With pictures They definitely are corkscrews
  14. I would think what Akro had to say what an ACE is would be a great place to go for an ID
  15. My favorite, and do not know what ever happened to it
  16. There it is in black and white. Steph was right on. Now is there any packaging of the feathered slags labeled Glassonix????? I am guessing that is what they were????

I think one of my favorite series was The Fugitive and I can remember where I was when the Finale was on. In a hotel in Livermore CA with the family waiting for our house to be finished after moving from Bluff Park Alabama
  18. Much more!!! And after digging them out they are not any where near mill ball weight! It is really tough getting old brain.
