Originally a CAC "Submarine" was a striped transparent with a green base with orange swirling striping which was as much or more under the surface as on the surface. Now it seems any swirly striped transparent with most of the striping under the surface gets called a Submarine.

I do not believe there was such a thing as "left polishing long enough" as that would not be a hand ground agate. There are some that are very well finished but with a magnifier facets can always be found on a hand ground agate. There are tons of machine ground agates that resemble hand ground agates in color and composition.

you forgot the largest, Imperial, and I would imagine there are hundreds if not thousands more. I think almost every corner 5 and dime or hardware store was a Jobber in the 20s and 30s. There are some interesting letters in the Peltier paperwork that was exchanged between some of the manufacturers about setting prices on their(all the companies) jobber marbles. I believe Price fixing was allowed back then.

pretty sure the first is CAC. Possibly the second. they actually made some white base swirls that look quite a bit like some of the WVb swirls. I put white base (verified) CACs in this box and have some nice other groups including orange on white

Ebay is your best bet for the biggest return IMO. The 10 or so folks here wanting them are no where near the buyers on ebay looking to buy marbles.. And when it comes to sparklers there are some ebay buyers that go crazy for sparklers every so often

Cigar-cigarette lighters and they are not Akro. They are missing the cord and lighter. Here is one that never got used. Mica bottom and a gravity switch that turns it on when you turn it upside down, Feels like a ball bearing rolling in it for the switch

Your perception is correct, lots of folks call a superboy a superman IMO
