  1. Regular pontil (german marbles do not have what we call melted pontils even though the side opposite of the so called pontil mark usually has a melted apperance) and this marble is probably a messed up latticino core
  2. looks a little Bulgarian or does it have a nice smooth ground pontil
  3. that baby is for riding, not sitting!!!!!!
  4. Neat little item. Salesman samples were usually marked with the makers name as it was very important? Maybe a label has fallen off over the years
  5. Both the boxes pictured look very fake to me. And as a whole, the responses and actions taken by the seller would lead me to believe they may have known they were not real.
  6. And with that last post you have equaled me in crotchetyness !!(LOL) I like making up words My bank folks insist on the same BS. I answer each and every one in an extremely loud obnoxious voice. They must just think I am nuts or hard of hearing as they haven't stopped yet
  7. Looks very much like a marble that has been in a fire.
  8. Wowser!!! for the Weber!!!! Speaking of big ol cars. The best land yacht I ever owned was a 1969 Coupe De Ville. 472 cubic inches of road warrior
  9. . Think lasic or tattoo removal. The beam doesn't burn through your eye or skin. It only gets intensively hot where it comes to a tiny focal point. It is not just a single width beam like a laser pointer.
  10. here are the hardest to find Master Mades I have ever owned
  11. not a flaw, just part of getting older and crotchety(LOL)
  12. The laser is focused and fired at many different points making tiny "bubbles" where the glass is vaporized. Actually a fairly simple process. http://crystalprints.com/
  13. I just went and looked at a 35 year old mans Fathers and Grand Fathers marble collection last week end. There was a hand ground agate, one bennington 2 slags and 3 Peltier rainbos. And about 2-300 Mexican and Asian marbles.. He had some wonderful antiques in his home and it was a great time hearing about and seeing some documentation on some of his past relatives. Had a great time! But he had to hear my spiel about how if there is a contanor of marbles in a home all marbles that enter that home seem to get put in the container. I have been to numerous homes to view containers of marbles where the owners were in their 70s and 80s. All but 3 of every collection I have viewed contained at least some new marbles. and a majority contained mostly newer marbles?? I guess grandkids bring marbles to add to the grandparents marbles??? Or maybe they take them from the kids(LOL)
  14. Mineral sphere of some sort. Not really a marble IMO
  15. There were some German striped Opaques that surface about 15 years ago that were sold by unknowing folks as CACs The so called "Circus Marbles". The Euro swirls are too different in glass to get passed as CACs IMO.
  16. Second pic has at least 4 old Cane cut hand mades. They are the ones with order to the striping.
  17. I prefer the energy in these, HHHHHHHHHHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
