  1. That really is not what is usually considered a tail, on a handgathered marble. The "Tail" is the string of glass than ran from the glob of glass on the punty back into the molten glass in the furnace it was pulled out of. It lays on the surface of the marble. That looks more like where the white just comes to the surface?

  6. Many different things can make threads of color in marbles, Often different types of contaminants or even some chemical type reactions can lead to the odd threads of different colors. They seem to be fairly common in Alley Agate marbles

  9. Great show, large turn out with a fair amount of walk ins. Had a fantastic time and I believe this may be the only show I have been to that was larger than my previous visit

  11. Many boxes of swirls and slags at the DesMoines show were marbles for a buck each
  12. Too much actual folding of a swirl to be a Pelt IMO. Could be a nice Alley Agate?

  15. Thursday I was a a work site 70 miles from home that was 103 at 3:00 in the afternoon. It may not get over 70 here at the house today.
  16. I once got a big group (30+) Milky Oxbloods. There were all types of patterns and a huge variance in the Oxblood color and opacity. They are all gone now.

  22. not a bug. Trash in marbles is very common, quite often it even gets crystally and folks call it aventurine. I have one aroung here somewhere that has more oven brick(one piece) than glass. I will try and find it. Found it
