The $38.00 is close to normal price for the older normal size boards. Most are sold for $25.00-$35.00. But if mailed then shipping is added on most.
-
The regular size one and the large one are the same colors. The small one can have or not have the metal marble holding cups. The Large one never has the marble cups.
-
If it was the large one for 7/8 inch marbles, that would be jackpot ! I have this one and the large one. I have 38 vintage Chinese checker boards, no metal ones. I know of only four of the large Ming Check boards. I am sure there are more out there just waiting to be found.

19/32 I'm not sure on this one. Any help is appreciated

I think it might be a Marble King Woodie. There is a variety of the MK woodies, light, dark. -
There are 6 or 8 Alley yellow monchrome game marbles on Ebay now for $400.00. If they are ture Alley's ? Your monochrome caught on with someone. A little to high, no a way to high price for me.

Another very hard to find Vitro marble is the Alligator Eye. The first ones noticed showed up about three years ago. Several sold for $100.00 each or more. They are about 5/8 and a clear base.

The overlooked Vitro Tomato marbles. They can be 7/8 inch or 5/8 inch. In normal light they look like a common red game marble. They are translucent red and orange with a pattern and some you can find the cut lines. They were used as game marbles, in Vitro jewelry , etc. 5/8 inch below. They will look more solid red in hand. Box of Vitro Large 7/8 inch size game marbles and the board which required the 7/8 marbles. I know of four of these boards. T The Vitro Tomato marbles are overlooked 99% of the time. Even game marbles can be collectible.

A few things that Vitro included the Vitro Tomato marbles in. The Chinese checker board is large, it requires the 7/8 inch marbles. I know of about four of these boards. A box of Vitro 7/8 inch game marbles with the Tomato marbles. Both items are rare. Plus a Vitro made necklace with the Vitro Tomato marbles. EEEE Even game marbles can be collectible !

The Vitro Tomato is overlooked 99% of the time with normal game marbles. They need a bright light and a close look. As usual the background can also make them easier to spot. The larger 7/8 ones are much easier to see the pattern in the difference of the red and orange color. With a bright light the orange can get thin and look a little like yellow. You can find the cut line on some with a bright light and close inspection. They are a common game marble and they produced many of them, They are just overlooked. My pictures have bright light added to the marbles. You may want to check game marbles, if you want to collect a few of these little known Vitro marbles. 5/8 inch below. They are more difficult to see the difference in the red and orange. Some of my pictures look a little pink, but that is due to the bright light. In hand and normal light these look just plain red.

They can be 5/8 or 7/8 Vitro marbles. They look opaque but are translucent. They are a mix of red and orange colors with some clear mixed in making them translucent. When backlit they do have a pattern. They can be found in some Vitro game marble box sets. Also in the large 7/8 inch game marbles box set. They were named many years ago. I think they are mentioned in Greenbergs Guide to Marbles book. Along with the Vitro Treasure Chest and many other forgotten marble items. Like many marbles once you have then in hand, they can be picked out more easily. I will get some pictures of Vitro Tomato and post next.

Membership is $25.00 per year, due May 1 of each year. Hope to see you at a show soon. -
Champion is out of business for good. The buildings are there. The curved metal building is standing but the older buildings along the street are falling in. Most of the roofs have fell in. No machines in the buildings along the street. Some cullet left at the curved metal building. Most equipment gone or rusted past any use now. The last I heard was that some of the machines had been put in semi trailers for storage. I heard 4-5 yrs. ago that they were going to have final auction for anything remaining. But that never happened. I know one man who bought one or two semi trailer loads of various mixed glass, flats or gems, etc. Not many, if any swirl marbles. The auction about ten or more years ago depleted most all of any swirl or play marbles that remained. Exactly where the machines are now or what happened to then, I don't know. They may have been sold to Mexico like many have the last 10-12 years. No more Jabo marbles ever. No more Champion marbles ever. Is Marble King next ? Marble King has been struggling. Americans wanted everything cheap. That is only possible from Mexico, Asia and China. Be careful what you ask for, now we are getting it. What can you buy even cheap when no one has a job ?

The nub on the stone one may be from getting it to hot when they ground it round. I have seen this on other stone marbles.

I agree with Ric.

I.D. please Thank you in advance! not the Hot Wheel or Alley the others!

Are these Ole Fashions or after the Ole Fashions ? We can blame Dave McCullough for copying the name and trying to copy the Ravenswood marbles. Ravenswood Novelty = Old Fashioned Marbles. Champion = New Ole Fashions. -

I need to look at my set of Charlie Stutsman named Champions more often. -
Definitely dug. The silver abalone happens on certain glass being buried in the dirt for many years. Dirt with the correct moisture, temps, time, etc. Not all dug marbles will have it. The majority of dug marbles do not have the abalone.

Foreign was my other choice. Very well could be ? The blue green and the clear was leading me towards a twisted Vitro. I am not use to seeing clear in most of the Imperials.

Sounds like they were dug.

Newb question: whatever happened to the JABO machine?
wvrons replied to truecatalyst's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
All the Jabo machines have been sold. The buildings and property have been sold. There will never be any more Jabo marbles made. It might be possible that DAS might make a run or two of marbles this year, nothing confirmed. Sammy Hogue got five of the machines including the old Vitro 3/4 inch machine. Those days are history.
