  1. I need to keep more up to date on the newer marbles. Your newer ones look like thin color. Which is common with all companies. The more years go by and more competition require cost cutting. So the quality and color suffer with mass production. Maybe the older ones have better or thicker more color ? I think production has been very slow the last two years for Marble King.
  2. By older I mean the 1970's to mid 1980's. Nothing to look for. I think that is the last time MK made any large 7/8 and one inch clear base cat eyes. These and the same smaller sizes were dug in the creek at Paden City. Everything there was discarded in that time frame or earlier.
  3. Sad news once again. Condolences to his family. Rest In Peace
  4. The three on the left are older Marble King. The others are foreign.
  5. OK it is a unusual one. Aventurine has been showing up in some odd marbles lately. In Nov. I got a nice normal caramel color MFC with a nice twist and tail, plus aventurine.
  6. If every marble that glows is Akro. I helped make several thousands of Akros. I think every machine made marble company made marbles that glow. If it glows it is Akro, is one of the oldest false statements for machine made marbles. Once something gets in print it just never goes away. even if false. Your marble is likely Alley Agate. Akro made very few swirl marbles. Their standard production was patches, corkscrews, patches and ribbons.
  7. Common Peltier. Ribbons not a random swirl. The four ribbons meet at the cut line. Check #2 and #3 pictures. Most swirl marbles will not show the cut line.
  8. I have never seen white aventurine. I don't see any sparkle with the white. Furnace brick particles are usually white or crème color.

#1= Alley #2= Alley #3= Not much way of identifying it #4= Alley Probably from the Alley location at St.Marys WV 1940's . But possible from late 1930's Alley location at Pennsboro WV. Most likely from Alley at St.Marys.
  11. Alley, made at the St.Marys location.

Correct, Vitro - Alley - Slag(MFC or Akro).
  13. Master or Imperial. Probably Imperial. Marble King never made anything called Sunburst.

    Champion - Champion - Alley
  15. All fake. Probable painted colored ceramic mill balls. If so they are super hard and will be hard to break let alone chip.
  16. Probably a Jabo tank wash. Many were clear base with lots of purples used.

Most Bogard cats are clear glass but can be seedy. He did have a few near the end of production that had a slight green tint. But the overall majority were clear no tint. The shape of the vanes look Bogard.
