I agree with all that being accurate. I think you have the big picture correct. Ebay marble sales getting to the point that more people have no idea what they are selling than those who do know. You are right, it has gone nuts. Now if you sell $600.00 and over in sales during the full year on Ebay, you will get a 1099 form for taxes. Last year it was $10,000.00, now $600.00 and taxes due. A big change in one year. Prices have gone up on everything, marbles are no exception. Wages go up and automatic that prices will go up. Many people now cannot afford NLR marbles so they collect MCR's so now they are getting overpriced. Cat Eyes are going up and lots of people collecting them now. Old and very nice quality marbles are harder to acquire every year and that will only get worse. As prices or values increase for older quality marbles collectors have to look for something cheaper to collect. New collectors every week, and widespread. The internet has made it so much easier to learn and collect marbles. New people collect from home now by the internet and in many different countries. I have been ask four times the last four days to sell and ship marbles out of the USA. But I don't like to because of extra paper work and shipping cost. Plus now every marble is expected to have its own name. We have to be willing to change, stay informed and keep up, or get left behind.

NIce show, great marbles and low prices. To low that I had to bring some Alleys and seven Big boys home with me. Sizes from 2.40 inches or 81mm to 1 3/4 inches or 44mm . The largest is lightly polished still with pontils. But the price was right and it looked so good.

Champion or Alley. Same value either way for this marble.

If that first one is vintage MFC at over 2 1/2 inches that is a monster and big bucks. It also looks like it is very nice condition. These old ones this size usually have a few marks. If that is white or a reflection in the third picture. If white it looks stretched and thin. It may have been ground and polished.

With the thick heavy white, Jackson may be a good choice. Almost every WV swirl company made some very similar to this. Some can be separated and some not. Some are purple base, some are brown base and some can be green base, They can look black but not actual black.

Not many but some gum ball machines did actually sell and dispense marbles. Years ago I was spending a Sunday afternoon with Mary Jane Wilson. A widow and the last owner of Playright Marbles. Her brother stopped by and of course we talked marbles. Both are deceased now. She ask her brother if he remembered what they did on Saturdays, when they were young. He said, sure and that he hated Saturdays. They would get up before daylight, pack cases of marbles in the car. Then start the day. The had a route of several rural country stores in three counties. They would stop at each store and have to refill the gumball machines with their company marbles. For one penny and one turn you got a marble. This was in the 1940's. Some oak machines that I had special painting done and fired on the glass. Three sides have pictures of the Alley marble factory sites. Plus others. All in working order.

It has been a long trail trying to pin the Paul Bunyan marbles to either Akro or Master for sure with no doubt ?

Well they were mine up until the last four days. I sold about $2500.00 of CAC at the recent Indianapolis show. Just got home Saturday night. The first green one has a new home, plus three or four of the others. I will take more to the FL show in Feb. Nice show at Indy selling or buying, I did both. It was cold 3 degrees Thursday night.

Thank you ! Stephen has lots of work, expense and time in these videos around all kinds of marbles. Free for marble collectors, if they use them. Wish they or something like this would have been around for me twenty five years ago. Search You Tube Videos - marbles

In the process of downsizing right now and the year ahead. Did it major once before during a divorce. Can always go on the hunt again. I never was able to replace some from the first downsize. But also found some that I had not before the downsize. Downsize does not mean the end. It can become a new start.
