Then had a chance to buy another special Julia Powell marble from Smitty. It's the West Virginia show marble that they auction off at their show. They are also called transitional marbles, but they are not. I will post an article about these group of marbles later. This marble is probably made in the period 1830-1840. lstmmrbls Posted October 26, 2012 Report Share Posted October 26, 2012 Jereon, Absolutely fantastic marble but that type(handgathered faceted pontil handmade) does show up in a Catalog from around 1880 I beleive.
