I am pretty sure it is old glass because I've seen several in that shape before. Also, the color streaks lay over the inner white base are like some of the same colors from the older marbles in my opinion. Of course, it is an opinion!

Yes, I think it's old as well... Should be here soon! Check out the transitions http://www.ebay.com/itm/111009932045?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

My thoughts are those are some of the modern fakes that have been coming out of Bulgaria

Well then there are going to be some high end collector pissed off about this! Check this one out. If it's fake then grab a garbage can and start filling it... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-POPEYE-MARBLE-/111007472246?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT&nma=true&si=sVLQFDjiUzFsyGBxfa5fdmAWCaI%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

That was just in fun. Although much of the fake roman glass comes from Damascus Syria Some is believed to come from Plovdiv Bulgaria. Don't want to start a big discussion, these were just my thoughts.

Funny! I think there a lot to learn about hand made marbles with more questions than answers. I will post pictures of this first transition. It sure is a looker!
