opaques and pieces. Many dont know but the lavender is almost always mottled (see pieces). Mine came from the relative of a factory worker.. Also the yellow is Very vibrant, but once you see in hand they dont look like game marbles. Hope this was helpful...Craig

These all came from one source. Back in good ebay days this lady put 2 of them up. I won. She put 2 more. I won again. I asked her then if she had more. 2 more for total of 6. I love the one that has the spots. That one and the one straight under it has a blue color as well. It's caused by a single blue thread deep near center of marble. Size is 1 1/4"

Asked back story on these. She said they came from a board game table that had 2 sticks and a couple big clays. Similar to pool? The game had a drawer and these were in it. She didn't have no pics of the game. She sold it as she was unloading it from her truck to put in store. A guy saw her unloading and bought it off her on the spot. There is a sad part and that she acquired these from a neighbor's estate who had been killed. Anyone know what game looked like?

hansel what is the perfection caster balls

Darn if I know what MFC meant by a caster ball in 1917, but here's a 1911 patent for a caster, awarded to Abraham Oppy of Kansas City. A caster ball probably fit into the caster. Interesting about being "made to order".

The largest I have heard of was a hair under 3 inches. I owned one a hair under 2"

I've seen an almost 3" blue. It was many years back at A local auction. I bought the other lot not knowing the value and rarity of these big boys. I just picked up a mint 1 7/8" today. I'll try and get up pics

check out morphy's auction for the up coming marble auction on may 3 there is a mfc slag.... lot 228... the largest that they know to exist of 1 15/16" estimate 1,000-2,000... wow wow... i can only imagine what a 3" estimate would be
