Steph
Somewhere, somewhen I remember a double (and maybe even a triple) Sparkler. I also remember a double cat's eye -- a foreign one -- and in a way it seems that would be even more rare because that's not something you could get from a dig. I've seen a double sparkler as well. I have never seen a triple ingot of anything.

Ric
Double ingots, found in Illinois together long ago, with matching marbles I've found since. This sextuplet was in the same group and measures a near perfectly round 1 1/8" (w/o the nub ) - it's Bill's now.
Steph
Six? SIX???
Ric
Yup, and you can find them all if you look close. But I know you want to do the volume calculations, Steph. Come on, how big are the mibs it's made from?

Steph
And thank you, Alan. LOL, Ric. I hadn't thought of that. I get almost exactly 5/8" though, now that you mention it. Which hardly seems possible at all.
Ric
I calculate really close to 5/8" too, Steph, and I attribute any significant error to that little nub. I also agree, the volume of spheres is tricky to visualize. Good thing we have math, huh?

Steph
I did not recall that one in particular. But what a beautiful mess! I love it. You gotta wonder how that one escaped into the general population.
