I don't think this marble got the attention it deserves, Gladys - better late than never, I guess.

To me, this looks like a weird Type III Tiger Eye, mainly because it has two same color patches on the poles while most have different colored patches. On the other hand, if you called this marble a clear-based "Anti-Whitie", I would know what you are talking about - clear-based Whities (like the one William just posted) normally have white on the poles and two same-colored ribbons around the equator, and this is the opposite of that, no doubt. 🙂

I think I was going for a Vitro Anti Blackies?

Yes, you were, but I think the marble you showed, which is not an Anti-Blackie, may be even more interesting!

It seems to be on transparent base-glass, a back-lit pic would confirm that.

Normal Vitro Blackie has a dark band or ribbon around or near the center, with a different color on each side of the center ribbon.

Vitro Anti Blackie a collector name has no dark color at all.  A colored band around the center, other than a dark black looking band or ribbon, with a different color one each side of the center ribbon.

Reverse Blackie a collector name, has a dark black looking base(transparent green, amber, brown) with a colored stripe other than dark looking black band or ribbon around the center. These were also sold as Blackies by Vitro. These are the later Blackies, the opaque white base Blackies are the early ones.

Original Vitro Blackie opaque white base with a black or dark band or ribbon around or near the center, with a different color (not dark like the center ribbon)of the same color on each side of the ribbon around the center.

Just one! lol thank you Ric!

My only hesitation would be that it's some kind of a newer MK that I am not familiar with. That long seam I see in your new pics makes me wonder a bit.

Imagine a white patch where the open area is in your last pic and the blue pushed up into ribbons, and you've got an MK patch and ribbon.

In fact, I am now thinking it's not Vitro at all - sorry.

Maybe it is a reverse Whitie, LOL.  It is opposite of the later clear transparent base Whities.

Later Whities=clear base with a colored ribbon around the center and white on each side of the center ribbon.

Gladys marble looks clear base with white ribbon around the center and transparent blue on each side.  Just the reverse of the later Whities. It would have been easy to make. Just reverse the colors in the feed system, while making routine Whities. It is possible. Maybe someone was very sleepy on night shift. I know some collectors who would call it a special experimental. I think most times experimental means mistake. We have seen several strange Vitro Tiger eyes that did not fit the usual type 1,2,3 or 4.  For a while we had a type 5 and 6 Tiger Eye but they are very hard to find. I think it is likely a Vitro. But Marble King could be possible. But none that I am familiar with.

Okay, now I'm sure, it's a Vitro King!

I would keep it separated from usual normal Vitros. Maybe someday more will show up. I have very high doubts that there was just one. I think it is later or newer for Vitro maybe 1960's-1970's. So there should be some more survivors yet.  Would be interesting to know if there are other color combinations ?  Something more to hunt.

I've never seen one like it. Have you?
