I have 5 Peltier picture marbles in mint condition now. It’s taken 3 years of marble collecting to find these that don’t cost an arm and a leg and aren’t busted up. Just acquired 3 of them this week; had the bimbo and Andy previous to this week. Just love these guys. Hope to find a Tom Mix one someday…. but that probably won’t happen.

The damaged Koko was given to me by the seller for free so I at least have an example of one for the time being.

Also, don’t think I posted this; got this over the weekend for a bargain, not that it’s super valuable or anything; but love the original play time box. That probably won’t ever happen at a garage sale or antique store. This playtime set adds to my other original boxes of children tea sets. The Alley Chiquita set is another great find from a few months ago.

On a sidenote, does anyone know where they got their boxes from as in what company made the boxes and the printing for them? Perhaps Akro made the boxes but I doubt that. Surely the boxes were outsourced from somewhere else.

Just purchased this on flea-bay, on a marble tear lately. My first original box of marbles by Akro. I highly doubt these are the marbles it would have originally come with but there’s some great marbles along with this original tin. If I can figure out what marbles this tin originally came with I can probably backfill it with others I have.

P.S. Don’t tell my girlfriend; we just had to buy a new crazy expensive furnace for the house today as the 27 year old furnace finally gave out.

The 150 box came with a variety of marbles. Usually corkscrews of the Prize name or “Snakes” family with a variety of colored base glass. Fancier corkscrews were added to these boxes. I do not think that the white based corks were original to this box.
The larger #200 tin came with Mossy patches sometimes, the variety with a UV glow. So I imagine the 150 tin may have had them as well. Tricolor or other patches would not belong in a tin. I do not believe that oxbloods of any type were included either.
You will see them filled with a variety of different marbles. The text that I present is just based on my personal research.
5 rows of 5/8” all the same in each row.
4, 13/16” marbles all the same style ( sometimes “Moonies”or “Flinties” of the same color)
5, 9/16” marbles these were commonly “Flintie” in a combination of  5 colors.
The five rows went inside of the square box the other two sizes went along side of it. You may be able to make out the marks on the bottom of the tin were they originally were.
The pouch was stored in the larger insert box; sometimes a knee pad was included with or instead of the pouch.
These boxes also came with a set of rules for “How to play the game of Ringer”.
Take it easy on the clasp that keeps the lid closed, push in below it before opening, these are usually broken.
Nice tin!!
Have fun, I love filling these boxes.

It was a great year for finds in the wild at garage/estate sales.  First I got 25 pounds of pre 1960 marbles for $20, heavy on Pelts. The first two pictures are a few of the highlights and the third is the sorted out banana cats, rainbos, Vitros and WV swirls.  The bag of mint newer blues were scattered in the lot.  Still more to sort and ID not shown.

Group two was pre 1945 small box of marbles for $10.  Lot's of lovelies in there - picture four and five.  Not pictured are a nice small assort ment of Alley/CAC that didn't make it to the photo shoot.

Finally, not a bargain, but lots of awesome stuff in a good sized lot. Brick, purple base oxblood, Popeyes, etc. Highlight picture (six) and two group shots with the highlights mixed back in (seven and eight).

You did well this year for sure hrjane.
This is just a great job of hunting these addictive little orbs.

They all stick out to me for one reason or another. It is great to see that they are still “Out There”.
I----Love—just love the “Bricks”.
Keep the images coming!!!

I don’t know if I ever posted this here, but this was a pretty awesome score I found at a garage sale a while back for 20 bucks at a garage sale. A 1930s solitaire board mfg’d in England and full of Yasuda transitional marbles in absolutely gem mint condition. The box is a little worse for ware but I couldn’t believe it still when I found it. Probably one of my better finds in the wild ever.

Might be my best score yet. It was in a $10 jar of cat eye marbles that I got a couple of days ago. I'm trying to find out what the value might be, nut am not having luck. It appears the glass is a blue and it's a one color ribbon (yellow).

I cannot give you a value but it is a nice find, in a great size, with lots of lutz.
There are many more here on the board that could give a better opinion than I could.
This is just me but if I found it alone for sale-$45 would be my limit.
All opinions are welcomed and needed.

I was told by someone on the FB for German marbles that he thought that in it's current condition (not mint) that it could be worth $500 to $1000 and that if it was in mint condition and without the blue glass it could go for $2000 to $3500 and if this one (with the blue glass) was in mint condition it could go for between $4000 and 8000 due to it's size. I should add that he's bought several of these, but hasn't ever seen one this size in blue glass (not to say there aren't any others).
