*Glass Wars*

Recommended Posts

Own a beat up marble? A veteran of the Glass Wars that has the battle scars too prove it? I'm sure everyone has come across these while collecting, but were they kept? Let's show them off and their story if they have one! Thought I would start a fun, new thread ๐Ÿ˜Š

Here's mine, an old lunker coming in at 1.38 that I found in a small Tupperware container mixed in with a handful of random marbles. It was a laundromat that doubles as a thrift store in a small town only 7 miles from me. Considering his age, it's a wonder he's still alive!

The Evil Eyed Onion !!

Still @ almost 2" at it'sย widest point, someone had a field day with this one !! Usually when they get this big they

ย have an interior, or built over core, I lit one end up with my mag to show the interior of this one. no interior core.

Everyone who sees this in my display asks what it is, not even realizing it was at one time a beautiful marble.

ย Gee, I wonder what the inside of this marble looks like . . . where's the hammer?

Wow! Look at that!

You know that's what they were saying . . .

Nope, clean fracture. So cleanย  it would probably stick back together with water.ย  Don't know how it happened but glass has a funny way of doing it's own thing.ย

Sticking together, like your original marble, is one example.ย  Change the temp a bit and that marble could be in a hundred fragments.
