Interesting. I've noticed this coppery stuff on some of my marbles and wondered why it was there. Thanks for sharing!

Yes, I can see myself tossing a penny in just to see what would happen---like putting a penny on the railroad tracks.
I remember my brother putting a toad (dead one) in a can of peas’ at the local cannery. 
We were/are all capable of mischief---yum-yum toad and peas!

The train would stop at the mill in Buffalo Lake Minnesota where we had a farm. I’d stack up some pennies in front of one wheels and then watch the slow motion squish when the train started to leave. Simple pleasures are fun 🔥
