Chad G.
Took a few shots off my back deck while the leaves are still on the trees. Gonna take more as the colors start to appear until it's fully lit up. Then after the Winter is here, alot of the Deciduous tree areas become almost unrecognizable after the leaves fall off. Posting these so I remember exactly where I took each shot from for a good comparison & retakes.

Different stores are leasing plots as time goes by. It's been as you see it for 3 or 4 years now before the recent filling, things are starting to pick up though. They demolished about 5 or so old houses, one of which the swat used for "raid" practice, kinda cool seeing smoke bombs and flash bangs, plus all of them running around in full dress sweating carrying assault rifles When I was a kid none of the houses or anything was in this area, swampland (the reason for them filling) & one access road. I'm not sure what kind of store is going in ? no "coming soon" signs or here say floating around yet ?? This is what it looked like a few years back, the last house to be torn down and all the trees already cut, the swat team was here practicing almost 5 days, training exercises I guess ?? Chad G.
RECAP Time :: Still having 80 - 90 degree days, everything is fried. Just a bit of fire showing on a few trees due to the shortening days, Supposedly a frost is coming @ the end of next week, hopefully the chlorophyll will begin to come out of the leaves in the trees & some great fiery colors will begin to appear 🤞 The construction is advancing quickly, around the corner, dug, plumbed, filled & almost to my house. I also see the tall orange flowers to the left of the excavator beginning to wane, they were like 9 feet tall, maybe I'll stroll over there and get a closeup before they're gone ?? (maybe)
Chad G.
First day of rain tomorrow, things will be changin soon. Oop !! Almost forgot, I gotta stroll over and get a shot of those big orange flowers before the rain beats em to the ground.

Chad G.
Went over and snapped a few pix of the orange flowers today. I'm over 6'1" and these are over my head. Unfortunately the rain already started doing a number on them.
William
They are pretty...what the rain does too those made me think of my 2 Peonies out front. It never fails. Every time the majority of the flowers have opened and they stand tall and proud, a heavy rain comes and beats them down. Tears off half of the petals and all the stalks lay down in a circle. Takes quite a few days for them to even stand up straight like they were. Some don't at all. Seems the only ones that don't mind are those average sized black ants that farm the buds before they open!

THEN NOW I suppose so...it's like around here. Occasionally you'll have a farmer "donate" an old farmhouse, barn, or silo too the local fire department for training (intentional burns, scaling down the silo, etc). Swat or fire department, it's fun too check it out when they do it!

Chad G.
Well our weather is still in the mid 80's The shorter days have the leaves beginning to change but not nearly as much as a few good frosts and some rain, 10 days straight of record breaking heat w/ another 4 on the way, incredible !! The construction is rippin along, I heard an Olive Garden & a Sonic are goin in. Usually by now we've had @ least a couple frosts and some pretty steady rain, still looks & feels like August ?? My little buddy only has one interest and it's not taking pictures, food &, well !! I often wonder, can he really sleep that much or is he just playin me ??
William
80's? Wow, it's cooking in October! In the upper 40's and lower 50's in my area since earlier this week and heading into next week. Actually having scattered snow flurries here and there. A bout of freezing rain yesterday for about a half hour. Big difference between here and there!

Lived there in Jacksonville until 1993. Going from north to south was quite the adjustment too, but as a kid it isn't as "noticable".... When I went back north, moving to southern Minnesota in early 93', that was a big change. Especially physically. My hands and feet actually peeled like a snakeskin! Climate is a crazy thing! I remember in Florida 40's and 50's were freezing! Nowadays too me it's a heatwave, I'll wear shorts in that! My neighbors the Folstads, definitely have Norwegian blood. Neil, I've seen that man in Jean shorts in December! Not me, I don't push it 😁 It's below freezing this morning here. Got up at 7:15 AM CST and looked outside at a car covered with thick frost. Making my coffee and looking out the back window, I noticed sparrows gathered around the dog's water bowl. Try as they might, they can't quite break through the layer of ice on the water's surface!
