YasudaCollector
Just thought I'd ask, but how many Japanese pinch/crease pontil transitionals would it take to break the record for the largest collection of them?

Fire1981
Do you have enough to fill up a 55 gallon trash can. Don’t take that out of context think that’s where they belong 🔥 RAR 1 1
Steph
I have no idea of the answer, but it's good to have a dream!

Maybe---just maybe a one/half pint container full is what I may have. Marble—On!!
Ric
At one point, Ron Shepherd had what I think was a "Santa Claus" box full. That's the most I've ever seen in one place - maybe a hundred or so.

I think its the combination of their history and eye appeal that does it for me. 1
I'llhavethat1
I suppose in order to beat the record, you'd need to know what the record is?
YasudaCollector
Yeah, sounds like I have quite a bit of collecting to do (which I enjoy of course!) So far I have 90 including 9 shooters.
Nantucketdink
Once you know which countries to look in to find them in bulk, you can easily find a 100 a month if you want to. They aren’t common in the USA, but they are quite common in several other countries 1
Nantucketdink
There doesn’t seem to be a lot of diversity in them, so not one of the types that can hold your attention for years.

I have from time to time gone through my "disgards" and found a few "Yasudas". I consider them to be keepers now--just not back then. Do the cut-offs on the opaque marbles look like they usually do on the transparent ones? A photo showing the cutoffs would be very helpful. 🙂
YasudaCollector
Thank you 🙂 Yeah, the opaque ones have the messy crease line as the transparent ones. However, I have seen one red and white example (closer to 0.75") that has a pinch pontil. It seems like Japanese transitionals can have either a pinch pontil or a crease pontil.
YasudaCollector
I'll try and get a close up of the pontils in some more pictures.
