  1. All four are 15/16" and probably made around the time of Aquamarines and Buttermilks, based on quality and construction. Too much white for a good Aquamarine though, IMO - maybe an Aquamilk . . . ?
  2. I personally have won none but it has certainly seen play time.
  3. Ooohh, nice and fizzly - great marble. I want a blue one - with AV, of course. I understand your argument, Ann. Although, I am not sure trying to define the colors of an actual sunset is the way to go. And super boxes there Mr. Plummer!
  4. A few more orange helmets . . . and NOT a Vitro.
  5. I wonder if folks knew that when the colloquial definition of "Sunset" was proposed. I am just now learning about the company name . . . so thanks for that! And you're killing me with this blue sunset thing . . . are you talking about BGs now or more like blue and white ribbons in a transparent base?
  6. The idea of a blue sunset is very appealing to me. I am not sure I've seen one. Of course, blue fizz are a dime a dozen. lol
  7. I'd keep that first one too - nice marbles.
  8. Ed, ". . . various stages of burntness" - that's funny! Any chance your top one is Kokomo? And just so nobody thinks I invented the idea of green Sunsets . . . From AM-MM, p. 133: "Sunsets are those Rainbos with a transparent base sometimes sparkling with air bubbles - with red, orange, yellow, white or green ribbons. Sometimes the colors are reversed." hmmmmm . . .
  9. I was hoping this topic would get more attention. Has anyone ever heard of a green sunset?
  10. Nice mibs, Cheese. The first reminds me of the chalky one I posted elsewhere and there are some great ones in that group shot! I really like them with a good bit of clear glass.
  11. It's a lot like the 15/16" one I gave to Buddy several years ago:
  12. Honestly, I am surprised you were able to put the set together in 2 years - some of the best marbles Peltier offered, it's really great!
  13. I do love Vitros, and there are a lot of nice ones in this thread! Baby Neons? There are distinct coral and orange colors in the caps - did the colors separate on the big ones? I think so.
  14. Okay, Ann, it's been haunting me and I really couldn't take it anymore. Here are a few more from the same bag . . .
  15. Thank you. The big one is most likely from The American Marble & Toy Manufacturing Co, most would not call it a Bennington - American stoneware, perhaps. Their marbles lack the multiple eyes seen on most German Benningtons. They also used a distinctly different blue color and the finish, overall, is notably different. The pink one looks somewhat similar but I think it's probably German - a Pink Bennington. There are at least three more AM&T Co. marbles here. The top corner marbles are American earthenware - a different beast, probably made elsewhere. I am not too sure about the middle right one, although I think it might be German. Any thoughts will be appreciated.
