  1. It looks like an Akro Milky Oxblood to me.
  2. Can American Agates get this transparent?
  3. These sat in a leather box on my desk with a bunch of Akros and other marbles for about 25 years to give people something to play with - they were already pretty beat when I put them in there. And in all that time, only a Superman went missing. One of my colleague's young boys was the culprit and I knew it but didn't say anything. He had picked up that marble every time he came in my office for a couple of years before it went MIA. Then one day, about a week after it went missing, he came in looking unusually sullen, pulled it out of his pocket, and produced the cutest heartfelt apology I have ever seen. I talked with him a little about the error of his ways and he left knowing we were still friends. A few weeks later he came back to visit displaying his typical high spirits and went straight for that marble again. It reminded me that in the end these really are just kids toys so I gave it to him.
  4. @Carowill Very nice Pearlized Patch! @Fire1981 Nice Rainbo - i like it when the blue goes a little purple!
  5. I'd say the OP is a Peltier Tiger.

    Mooo?

I just want to make sure I understand . . . Are you suggesting the reason your marble is so light is because it was polished? AFAIK, Peltier Chocolate Cows are NLRs so while the base might lighten up a bit with polishing, I wouldn't expect it to go as light as your marble. It has also been established that the OP is not a MK Chocolate Cow - it's a MK Wasp variant. So are you just talking about "chocolate" in a generic sense when you compare your Pelt to the OP Marble king? I agree with Art - your marble just may be tough to categorize. I do not think it fits the Peltier Chocolate Cow definition, unless you really stretch.
  7. Nice marble. What is the base like? Is it a veneered marble, is it translucent, or does it show any opalescence? These are key things I would want to know before taking a stab at categorizing it.
  8. Well, this sure has all been educational. I think the key thing I learned is that there is a lot of variation in these types. 🙂 Thanks to all for helping out!
  9. I thought about JABO too Art. It's why i said, "If the color is veneered on transparent base glass . . ."
  10. @Melissa Thanks for the pic - it helped a ton!
  11. @Jeff54 The red on Melissa's Bengal doesn't look anything like the yellow/orange on the Tiger she showed, at least to me - way more red. IMO, her marble looks more like a Wasp/Bee hybrid. Or do the names just not make sense? And it doesn't look "blended" to me at all. What am I getting wrong? And thanks for helping to clear up the "Tiger" for me!
  12. I really thought the orange one on the left was a Tiger, although I could see an off-color Wasp on the right. Anyone have a MK Tiger pic? The ones I see on Google look like mine, as far as I can tell.
  13. It's hard to tell, if it's all veneered on transparent it would be a Type I, but it doesn't really look that way to me, and it doesn't fit the definition for Type II - IV either. IMO. It might just be a patch and ribbon. But it is a Vitro, no doubt.
  14. A 15/16" Neon Conqueror left and a related (but not Neon) Vitro on the right . . .
  15. Just FYI, I don't think I've ever seen a 3/4" Neon either. I think they are usually 7/8"-15/16", although I have seen a (very) few 5/8" too.
  16. I am interested to hear what folks might call these . . . @Jeff54
  17. Vitro veneered colors (or white) on both transparent and opaque glass.

    Mooo?

Thanks, Jeff. After I thought about it, I was questioning myself about an MK "Chocolate Cow". . . I'll have to run a "Brown Wasp" by you to see what you think . . .
  19. Thanks for posting this after your edit - most people already think I'm crazy, I don't need them to think I'm blind too. lol Your marble appears to be a Vitro Tiger Eye or relative, depending on whether the white and color is veneered on clear or not.
  20. Bright (neon) colors distinguish the Vitro Neons and they usually have very little (if any) white. I don't think I am seeing one here. This is one of Ron's, since I couldn't easily find mine. 🙂
  21. Good call, Brett - I see Master Sunburst too.
  22. This marble is very very hard to find . . . since I can't see it. 😁
  23. If the color is veneered on transparent base glass I think you have a very nice Vitro Conqueror.
  24. Dave McCullough's Black and Gold Experiment, 07/2010.
