  1. Haven't bought anything off eBay lately but I used to make similar requests for safe packing. Some sellers would do a good job, others didn't seem to give a hoot (and I'd end up mailed a box of loose marbles rolling around, with some fine busted up glass at the bottom). After all, say you're buying 100 marbles for $10 and expect the seller to spend the time and material to wrap each one individually? It can be a bit of a crap shoot. I'd always leave good feedback for the sellers that took the time.
  2. From the pic on the nuts: 1=probably Alley 2= Alley 3=Peltier 4=Alley

    🤔

I've seen CAC's with similar colors but not at .78"
  4. The yellow reminds me of the "mushroom" marbles more often found in Canada. the pattern isn't as defined, but it might have come from the same place.
  5. I've downsized a few times over the years. Only regret was the first time (needed gas/girl money in college). I agree with the above comments re: display...just need a bigger display!
  6. Wow, hard to tell from the reflections. Looks like a Large Vacor with a cold roll mark (circle on the bottome) to me.
  7. Aside from the group shot in your hand, there are probably another 3 or 4 that stand out amongst the others. I agree with the other comments, a nice group of vintage marbles.
  8. I'd lean towards Navarre as well, nice marble, beautiful color. From what I've seen, most of the green American handgathered slags are a brighter green. Can't recall if I've seen one this shade before.
  9. Bottom left is worthy of a couple more angles. The rest mostly look like a bunch of more common foreign marbles (ie: Imperial).
  10. Vernier/Caliper styles can sometimes be hard to decipher but pretty sure that's reading .753 of an inch. I agree Champion New Old Fashioned, I had one kicking around here years ago.
  11. Nothing I'd consider "extraordinary" but there are a half dozen interesting ones in the last pic (any non-white or yellow Latt is usually a bit more desirable and it looks like you may have 3 or 4 that fit that category)
  12. Pelt would be my 3rd guess after MK and Vitro. Maybe it's just the colors throwing me off?
  13. They are a bit odd, not ground or faceted, kind of rough like a regular pontil but more elongated. Similar to that you see on some Indians. I'll see if I can dig up a pic
  14. Some German "Slags". Thought I posted this pic earlier but couldn't find it.
  15. The one with the clear window is especially unlike I've seen. Are these vintage?
  16. So if: "... in 1873 he perfected his globe-stoppered bottle. " that would be pretty early in the grand scheme of making marbles (or glass globes). Interesting links, thanks
  17. Just curious which company had the machines to fulfill that capacity/demand at the time? Any thoughts? US?
  18. Yowza, how about a group pic of the glass handmades when you get a chance?
  19. Some nice looking mibs in this lot, missed it earlier. Clean looking handmade
  20. #1 = Nice CAC (too bad about condition) #2 = Nice Alley Agate with Aventurine
