Interesting, never had one before and always assumed they were a polished mineral sphere, similar to a tiger eye, Agate, etc. Wouldn't have suspected glass. Learned something new.

The "bullseye" could be a fracture from taking a hit. Light refracts differently through those and could be why it looks more red in that area.

Yes, it was somewhere after Vitro before full circle back to Kokomo or Pelt.

I'm really not seeing anything that would lean me towards Pelt, but someone will probably know.

The first marble I'd put with my Pelts. Sweet pattern, especially 1st pic. The others I'd put with my "wants to be a Pelt, probably isn't, but really wanna be" pile. Oddly enough Imperial came to mind, and then MK...then Vitro, then full circle.

tough to say without seeing in hand, but the size and pattern lean me towards handmade. See if you can find evidence of a pontil, in the area where the red ends.

So what's going on at the poles, is it black (fading to purple/blue) or is it transparent blue? The top right pic is just bonkers. Nice marble.

It's a mashup for sure. Almost like MK, CAC, Pelt, and Vitro had a baby.

When you put a light behind it, does the construction twist from pole to pole (ie: where the red stripes stop and, where they begin at the opposite pole)? Almost looks like it could be a handmade but hard to tell from the pics.

1 is Akro 2 is Pelt 3 Pelt, slim chance of something else (from the pics, looks a bit odd) 4 is Pelt

Beat me to it, my opinion is the same. Although the color/pattern is usually more associated with the other transitionals I think this predates those, and German in origin.

Better pics might show a ground/faceted pontil, which is what I'm interpreting from the bottom right pic. Probably an early German hand gathered.

Agreed, Vitro (with a slim chance of Pelt) on the right. Left looks a bit wonky. Have you tried a flat (non-textured) background? Gray usually works best for my camera

My guess is a rock tumbler or some time in the river or aquarium

Polishing a marble will sometimes change the appearance/pattern, I think this might be what happened here

Sounds about right, appears to be nice spacing, nice color, nice condition. More likely German origin...since I can't say I've seen cane cut swirls with early American provenance? But I sure haven't seen them all
