  1. Ok good, for a second I wondered if there was such a thing as an Akro Sunburst. To me, logic dictates that if it's an Akro box, in that sort of condition, majority of the marbles should still be Akro. (I know I know, somebody could have just back filled the ones in question, and then added some authentic Agates as a red-herring)
  2. Might be semantics but does the main question have more to do with the manufacturer (Akro or Master)? or the style (Sparklers or Sunbursts)?
  3. Minnesota Marble that's a touching story, friends and marbles. My interest started on the school playground, playing for keeps. The first sunny days of spring I remember looking out the class window and once enough snow melted to expose some dirt, that's where my friends and I spent recess. There were a lot of catseyes and stuff but even back then I liked the older patterns of vintage marbles which wasn't common at my school. Some got dinged pretty bad in the process of a victory but back then it was 'a battle scar'
  4. Sounds like a blast 3rd column 2nd row in your pic I like. I think most of these are Alleys
  5. I can never make heads or tails of Ravenswoods (or most other WV swirls for that matter). I think a couple in the 1st pic are. 2nd pic probably Alley is my guess anyways
  6. Some nice ones there Marboman. Here's a couple of my Fav's
  7. There are a couple lutz's there. Are some as 'egg-shaped' as the pics show?
  8. Curious what the soldering iron would have looked like in that era.
  9. my guess is reflection of whatever it's on that gives it a 'bumpy' appearance.
  10. Almost looks like a circropia moth, they are bigger than some birds
  11. Similar in terms of construction (basically speaking) where the canes are longitudinal (post 24) instead of latitudinal (post 15). I don't even know if those are words and Galen will probably say something about NHA but that's the best descriptive way I can think of. Glad you have more pics, I'd saved that pic from years ago
  12. Could have been a couple other factors but here's a marble that's different on either side of the pole from a pic I saved (not mine). There is a nice similar one I've seen with a blue shade on the opposite side of the ribbon
  13. The latest pic is a good example of what I meant by an 'across the equator' type, thanks Bernie
  14. I think we're on the right track of it being constructed of two separate canes, given the complete lack of symmetry, the fact the colorful ribbon is facing inward (instead of outward) and the bubble/ghost part. If it were intended to be a latt marble the rest of the cane if properly executed would be spectacular. MC Marbles asked: "Are not all German Hand-Made marbles made from groups of glass rods fused together?" The answer is (mostly) yes, but the rods/patterns are usually a lot more concentric from layer to layer building outwards which is where the symmetry comes from once it's twisted Which brings in the possibility it was close to the end of cane of spectacular marbles where the glass was folded over itself and made a weird pattern. I might have a couple pics saved of fused marbles across the equator which are easier to make out what happened
  15. I recognize that pic , 6 panels on the bottom row second in on the right. No 19C but I'll take a closer look
  16. Nice, I think I have one 4-stage but that's it.
  17. Wirepulls are some of my favorites. The blue/white in the middle reminds me of one I had as a kid. Nice!
  18. Cool pattern Jeroen. Too bad about the condition but at least you can make out what's going on Good examples Clyde. 1st pic in post 4 looks more like a 'chinese' confetti
